Up until that time <\/span><b>Roach <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will be working with the associate head coaches at TIDE while completing his role as head coach of the Junior National Team for USA Swimming. <\/span><b>Roach <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has a storied career associated with the sport of swimming, coaching across the country at both the national, international, and collegiate levels. In 2008, <\/span><b>Roach <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">took over as the head coach of the Junior National Team, where he worked with athletes who have gone on to success at both the London and recent Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Respected across the swimming community, <\/span><b>Roach <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. The IPC had previously released a statement following the release of the McLaren Report, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/russia-banned-from-paralympic-games-following-mclaren-report\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">stating earlier this month that the Russian Paralympic team would be banned<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> due to Russia\u2019s \u201cinability to fulfill its IPC membership responsibilities and obligations.\u201d There were previously 267 slots for Russian athletes to compete in the 2016 Paralympic Games. These spots will be redistributed to other athletes across all nations prior to the start of the Games, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/leslie-cichocki-cassie-mitchell-added-to-us-paralympic-swimming-roster-after-russian-spots-redistributed\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with three U.S. swimmers being added to the roster just this weekend<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It began with a number of his sponsors dropping <\/span><b>Lochte, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/speedo-drops-ryan-lochte-pledges-to-donate-50k-to-charity\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">including the suit manufacturer <\/span><b>Speedo USA<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The company has had a sponsorship deal with <\/span><b>Lochte <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">since 2006, stating they were forced to end the business relationship because the company \u201ccannot condone behavior that is counter to the values this brand has long stood for.\u201d Ralph Lauren also announced they were ending their partnership with <\/span><b>Lochte, <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-loses-endorsements-with-syneron-candela-and-airweave-issues-apology-to-speedo\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as did skin care firm Syneron-Candela and mattress firm Airweave<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. At the end of the week <\/span><b>Lochte <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-lochte-summoned-for-hearing-by-rio-police\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also received a summons from the Rio police<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to testify in the investigation of the claims made that night. All in all the USA team set five meet records. <\/span><b>Cassidy Bayer <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">followed the momentum from a great U.S. Olympic Trials to set a new meet record in the 200 butterfly (2:08.48). Teammate <\/span><b>Zoe Bartel <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also broke <\/span><b>Kierra Smith\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2012 meet record in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:25.46. The record setting wasn\u2019t limited to Americans, however; Australia\u2019s <strong>Minna Atherton<\/strong> won the 100 backstroke with a record of 1:00.45, while teammate <\/span><b>Jack Cartwright <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">set a meet record in the 200 freestyle (1:47.68) and 100 free (48.91), while also touching first in the 50 free (22.28).\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other multiple event winners included <\/span><b>Michael Taylor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the USA, who swept the backstroke events with wins in 100 (54.21) and 200 (1:57.39), the later event just shy of the Junior Pan Pac meet record of 1:57.20. China\u2019s <strong>Li\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><b>Bingjie\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">took home three event wins herself, taking the 200 (1:58.23), 400 (4:07.52), and the 800 freestyles (8:28.12). The meet also saw two world records courtesy of <\/span><b>Alia Atkinson <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Vlad Morozov <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 100 breaststroke and 100 IM. <\/span><b>Atkinson <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/alia-atkinson-ties-100-breast-scm-world-record-at-2016-fina-world-cup-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tied the world record in the 100 breaststroke for the second time<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, touching in 1:02.36. The Jamaican had previously tied the world record in 2014, sharing the record with <\/span><b>Ruta Meilutyte <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who broke the old world record at the World Cup stop in Moscow from 2013. <\/span><b>Morozov<\/b> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/vladimir-morozov-edges-past-100-im-world-record-at-2016-fina-world-cup-paris\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">followed up by breaking the world record in the 100 IM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, breaking <\/span><b>Marcus Diebler\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2014 world record from the World Cup stop in Doha by six one-hundredths. <\/span><b>Morozov <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">used a fast front half to touch in 50.60 to move past <\/span><b>Diebler\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50.66. Ukraine&#8217;s <\/span><b>Daryna Zevina<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> also set a new World Cup record in the 200 backstroke with a 1:59.35 to overturn <\/span><b>Missy Franklin\u2019s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2011 World Cup record of 2:00.03 from the Berlin stop, while also coming very close to <\/span><b>Katinka Hosszu\u2019s<\/b><span
