Lima stopped the clock at a 26.46 over Manaudou&#8217;s 26.49.<\/p>\n<p>Paraguay&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Renato Prono<\/strong> turned in a 26.93 for fifth, while\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> finished sixth with a 27.17.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liu Yunsong<\/strong> (27.71) and\u00a0<strong>Yuta Oshikiri<\/strong> (27.84) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breast:<\/h3>\n<p>Jamaica&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong> charged to first in the women&#8217;s 100 breast finals, tying her World Record time of 1:02.36 which she already shared with\u00a0<strong>Ruta Meilutyte.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Picking up second was\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA with a final 1:03.52, while Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>moved up to third with her final time of 1:04.14.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rie Kaneto<\/strong> delivered a 1:05.34 for fourth, just ahead of a tight finish from Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tess Wallace<\/strong> (1:06.15) and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Breeja Larson<\/strong> (1:06.25).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suzuki Satomi<\/strong> of Japan finished seventh with a 1:06.99 and the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Liz Roberts\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 1:10.05 for eighth.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>kept ahead of Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen\u00a0<\/strong>to pick up her second win in the women&#8217;s 100 fly. The &#8220;Iron Lady&#8221; finished first with a time of 56.09 over Ottesen&#8217;s 56.54.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong> finished third overall with a 56.77, the only other athlete under the 57-second mark.<\/p>\n<p>Belgium&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kimberly Buys<\/strong> posted a 57.00 for fourth, while Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Chan Kin Lok<\/strong> grabbed fifth with a 58.75.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Franziska Hentke<\/strong> (58.87). China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Wang Siqi<\/strong> (59.59), and Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lisa Zaiser<\/strong> (1:00.59) completed the top eight finishers.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 Back:<\/h3>\n<p>Australia delivered a 1-2 punch in finals of the men&#8217;s 100 back.\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong> held a tight race to pick up first and second respectively with times of 50.51 and 50.54.<\/p>\n<p>Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> finished third overall with a 50.57, just ahead of Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stanislav Donets&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>50.93.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nelson Silva Junior<\/strong> turned in a time of 52.89 for fifth, while\u00a0<strong>Hiromasa Fujimori<\/strong> of Japan grabbed sixth with a 53.44.<\/p>\n<p>Seventh was picked up by\u00a0<strong>Thomas Avetand<\/strong> and his 53.59 and eighth was claimed by\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew&#8217;s<\/strong> 55.78.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Back:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>topped the competition in finals of the women&#8217;s 50 back with a time of 26.15, getting her World Cup series started off with a solid win.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daryna Zevina\u00a0<\/strong>outlasted\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary for second. Zevina posted a 26.43 ahead of Hosszu&#8217;s 26.47.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Holly Barratt<\/strong> of Australia picked up fourth with a time of 26.73.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Kira Toussaint\u00a0<\/strong>and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daria Ustinova<\/strong> finished close together with times of 27.02 and 27.14 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The French duo of\u00a0<strong>Mathilde Cini<\/strong> (27.53) and\u00a0<strong>Pauline Mahieu\u00a0<\/strong>(28.39) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong>, the SCM World Record holder in this event, picked up his first win of the series with a final 1:51.25 in an incomplete 200 fly finals heat.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> tried to challenge le Clos, delivering a sizzling 28.90 split on the third 50 compared to le Clos&#8217; 29.13, but was unable to bridge the gap. Heintz finished with a time of 1:51.84 for second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nic Brown\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia delivered a time of 1:54.69 for third, ahead of China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hao Yun&#8217;s<\/strong> 1:55.78.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy<\/strong> finished out the heat with a fifth place finish of 1:59.66.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM:<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Iron Lady&#8221; of Hungary,\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong>, grabbed her third win of the day in one of her World Record events. Hosszu posted a time of 2:06.64 to grab the win, but not without a challenge\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>Alia Atkinson<\/strong>. Atkinson delivered a monster breaststroke split of 34.91 compared to Hosszu&#8217;s 37.03 to clear the gap Hosszu had built with her backstroke leg. Atkinson finished second overall with a time of 2:07.89.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Miho Takahashi<\/strong> grabbed third with a 2:08.22, followed closely by Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lisa Zaiser\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 2:08.57.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hannah Miley<\/strong> of Great Britain and\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> of Hungary delivered almost matching times to finish fifth and sixth respectively. Miley posted a 2:09.51 over Jakabos&#8217; 2:09.53.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alice Aubry<\/strong> (2:17.85) and\u00a0<strong>Joana Desbordes<\/strong> (2:19.44) rounded out the top eight finishers.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 Free:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Jordan Pothain<\/strong> of France posted his first win of the series in the men&#8217;s 400 free, stopping the clock at a final time of 3:40.56. Pothain grabbed the lead in the first 50-meters and never looked back, despite a surge from Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>James Guy<\/strong> in the back half of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Guy finished second overall with a 3:42.46, unable to bridge the gap that Pothain had built in the earlier parts of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Picking up third was\u00a0<strong>Bobby Hurley<\/strong> of Australia with a final time of 3:43.92, while the Czech Republic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jan Micka\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth overall with a 3:45.61.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Poul Zellmann<\/strong> was fifth with a time of 3:47.93, while Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Brandl<\/strong> picked up sixth with a 3:49.42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chen Chaoqi<\/strong> of China grabbed seventh with a time of 3:51.43.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 50 Free:<\/h3>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeanette Ottesen<\/strong> blasted ahead of the competition in the women&#8217;s 50 free final, posting the only sub-24 second swim. Although not the first off the block, Ottesen posted a sizzling 23.72 to finish first overall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Santamans<\/strong> of France was quick off the block but unable to keep with Ottesen&#8217;s sprint speed, settling with second and a 24.43.<\/p>\n<p>Santamans was followed by a close tie between the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili<\/strong> and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves<\/strong>. The two delivered matching times of 24.49 to share third place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth overall with a 24.51, just ahead of fellow Hungarian\u00a0<strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>24.73.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lena Bousquin\u00a0<\/strong>picked up seventh with a 25.13, while Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tessa Wallace\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth with a 25.49.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Breast:<\/h3>\n<p>South Africa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cameron van der Burgh\u00a0<\/strong>and Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> kept a tight race throughout much of the 200 breast final, but a strong middle 100-meters from van der Burgh built some distance that Prigoda just could not overcome. van der Burgh finished first with a time of 2:05.12 over Prigoda&#8217;s 2:05.86.<\/p>\n<p>Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Johannes Dietrich<\/strong> picked up third with a final time of 2:07.23, just ahead of Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lennard Bremer<\/strong> and his time of 2:07.42.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liu Yunsong<\/strong> of China grabbed fifth with a 2:08.03, followed closely by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yuta Ohikiri&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>2:08.06.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kwok Ka Fai<\/strong> finished seventh with a 2:14.24, while Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Koch\u00a0<\/strong>was a &#8220;no-show&#8221; for the event.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 100 IM:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> of Russia continued building upon his success of day one with a new World Record in finals of the men&#8217;s 100 IM. Morozov, who had a stressful month or so before the start of the Olympics as he appealed his ban by FINA, appears to have rebounded successfully with his second win of the Paris stop.<\/p>\n<p>Morozov stopped the clock at a 50.60 to edge past\u00a0<strong>Markus Diebler&#8217;s<\/strong> 2014 World Record of 50.66.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> took second with a 51.87, followed closely by Japan&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hiromasa Fujimori&#8217;s<\/strong> 51.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mitch Larkin<\/strong> of Australia finished fourth overall with a 53.39, just ahead of fellow Aussie\u00a0<strong>Jack Gerrard&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>53.72.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Tristan Slater<\/strong> picked up sixth place with a time of 54.37, while\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> of the USA was seventh with a 55.06.<\/p>\n<p>Austria&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sebastian Steffan<\/strong> rounded out the top eight with a 55.26.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Back:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Daryna Zevina<\/strong> of the Ukraine delivered a powerful back half to her 200 back final to set a new World Cup record and flirt with the existing World Record. Zevina stopped the clock at a 1:59.35 to overturn\u00a0<strong>Missy Franklin&#8217;s<\/strong> 2011 World Cup record of 2:00.03 from the Berlin stop, while flirting with\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu&#8217;s<\/strong> 1:59.23 World Record.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu, meanwhile, finished second with a time of 2:01.80, fading on the third 50 when Zevina turned on the power.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Comparable Splits:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hosszu, WR (2014): 28.17, 30.19, 30.41, 30.46&#8211; 1:59.23<\/p>\n<p>Zevina (2016): 28.93, 30.69, 29.81, 29.92&#8211;1:59.35<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebohm\u00a0<\/strong>finished third overall with a time of 2:02.46, while Russia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Daria Ustinova\u00a0<\/strong>finished fourth with a 2:05.61.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pauline Mahiu<\/strong> of France picked up fifth with a time of 2:15.43 and Singapore&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Li Hui Genevieve Lye<\/strong> grabbed sixth with a 2:22.76.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 50 Fly:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong> grabbed his second win of the day with a time of 22.17 in the men&#8217;s 50 fly.<\/p>\n<p>A trio of 22&#8217;s followed him into the wall as the Ukraine&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrii Govorov\u00a0<\/strong>(22.41), France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Stravius\u00a0<\/strong>(22.78), and Belarus&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Pavel Sankovich\u00a0<\/strong>(22.81) picked up second through fourth respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrii Khloptsov<\/strong> of the Ukraine finished fifth with a time of 22.35, followed closely by France&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mehdy Metella\u00a0<\/strong>and his 23.38.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Glauber Silva<\/strong> (23.47) and China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cui Junming<\/strong> (23.77) were seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 800 Free:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Franziska Hentke<\/strong> of Germany outlasted the &#8220;Iron Lady&#8221;\u00a0<strong>Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>in finals of the women&#8217;s 800 free, posting a first place finish of 8:24.66.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu turned up the tempo during the final 200 meters of the race but it was not enough to catch Hentke, so Hosszu settled for second and a time of 8:25.23.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leah Neale<\/strong> and Great Britain&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hannah Miley\u00a0<\/strong>kept a tight race, finishing less than half a second apart. Neale posted a final 8:30.59 over Miley&#8217;s 8:30.93.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miho Takahashi<\/strong> of Japan rounded out the competitors with a time of 8:40.97.<\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 400 IM:<\/h3>\n<p>Germany&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> soared ahead of the competition in the men&#8217;s 400 IM final, posting a time more than ten seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
