After a shaky semifinals\u00a0David Boudia<\/strong>, the american reigning gold medalist, won a bronze medal in the men’s individual platform. He followed silver medalist German Sanchez<\/strong> from Mexico, and champion\u00a0Chen Aisen<\/strong> of China.<\/p>\n

After missing his front four and a half in preliminaries and semifinals, Boudia decided to change his list order do the dive was at the end. Boudia said “we wanted to go in with five dives that we knew we could hit, so we were extremely confident.”<\/p>\n

Talking about his front four and a half, Boudia further commented “this dive has bee a thorn in my side for the last four years. My takeoff is absolutely perfect, but I cannot find the bottom to save the life of me. I chose to do it at the end of this competition because I wanted that pressure. I live off those nerves, and I wanted that.”<\/p>\n

Even though it didn’t end up exactly how Boudia pictures, he’s happy with how the event finished. “It’s pretty cool, at my last two Olympics I’ve done four events and have four medals.”<\/p>\n

Chen Aisen<\/strong>, the Olympic rookie, is now a double gold medalist. He won synchronized platform at the beginning of the games with partner Lin Yue<\/strong>. This Olympic gold medal is China’s first in men’s individual ten meter since 2004. This is also China’s seventh diving gold medal this Olympics. The only event they did not win was men’s synchronized springboard, where the team earned a bronze.<\/p>\n

Chen’s teammate Qui Bo, the reigning silver medalist finished insight place. Despite scoring perfect tens on his their round dive, he only earned 47 points on two other dives, knocking him out of medal contention.<\/p>\n
