While everyone loves the classic gold medal grin, the quirky and unexpected photos can be just as fantastic. Here are 10 photos to get you started in your admiration of the abnormal:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1. Rio officials originally assumed dye in the mats had leaked into the water leading to the overnight color change. It was later confirmed that the green was actually caused by a massive algae bloom and poor chemical maintenance.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>2. The Michael Phelps fan club is exhibiting some amazing product placement. Every person in this section displayed a MP product and\/or a brand that sponsors Phelps. Who knows, maybe the MP brand will take on the baby apparel market?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>4.
