His winning time of 1:05.9 was followed by silver medalist USA\u2019s <strong>Albert Vandeweghe<\/strong> with a 1:07.7. Coming in fourth place at a 1:10.94 was their teammate <strong>Taylor Drysdale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Though Adolph at age 98 no longer is actively involved in the sport or business side of swimming he still swims as regularly as possible and is always keen to \u2018talk swimming\u2019 with fans and reporters alike.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #339966;\">In a story often told, young Adolph had the opportunity to meet the \u2018other\u2019 Adolph after winning his event\u2026 young Kiefer has since exclaimed, \u2018if I knew then what we all know now I would have thrown him in the pool\u2019 or \u2018I would have grabbed him and taken him to the bottom and not let go\u2019 or some version of this good tale.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>His teammate <strong>Al<\/strong> <strong>Vandeweghe<\/strong> (d 2002) cousin\u2019s<strong> Kiki Vandeweghe <\/strong>was a NBA pro, another cousin <strong>Tauna Vandeweghe<\/strong> was a backstroker on the \u201964 team and grand niece <strong>Coco Vandeweghe<\/strong> is a pro tennis player.
