Guy also made a pair of finals, in the 200 and 400 free, and he was a semifinalist in the 100 fly, and Scott finished sixth in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Plummer\u00a0<\/strong>(52.70),\u00a0<strong>Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>(59.51),\u00a0<strong>Tom Shields\u00a0<\/strong>(51.88), and\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>(47.74) touched in 3:31.83 for the Americans this morning.<\/p>\n<p>But whereas the British swam their top squad in the morning heats, the Americans figure to have a fresh set coming in for finals with\u00a0<strong>Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>set to swim the butterfly leg and a trio of individual medalists,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> (back),\u00a0<strong>Cody Miller\u00a0<\/strong>(breast) and\u00a0<strong>Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>(free) rounding out the squad.<\/p>\n<p>The Japanese team of <strong>Ryosuke Irie\u00a0<\/strong>(53.7),\u00a0<strong>Yasuhiro Koseki\u00a0<\/strong>(59.02),\u00a0<strong>Takuro Fujii\u00a0<\/strong>(51.73), and\u00a0<strong>Katsumi Nakamura\u00a0<\/strong>(48.01)\u00a0finished third in 3:23.33.<\/p>\n<p>Australia and China tied for fourth in 3:32.57.<\/p>\n<p>Russia (3:32.95) finished sixth, and Brazil was seventh in 3:32.96, much to the delight of the Rio crowd.\u00a0Germany (3:33.67) took the final lane in the final.<\/p>\n<p>Full results are available <a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Day-7-Prelims-Results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chris Walker-Hebborn\u00a0(53.68),\u00a0Adam Peaty\u00a0(57.49),\u00a0James Guy\u00a0(51.48), and\u00a0Duncan Scott\u00a0(47.82) led the way for Great Britain in this afternoon&#8217;s\u00a0prelims of the men&#8217;s 4&#215;100 medley relay with a 3:30.47.
