Chen finished fourth earlier in the week in the 100 fly in 56.72, just nine one-hundredths behind bronze medalist <strong>Dana Vollmer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports from <em>The Sydney Morning Herald, <\/em>the 18 year old, &#8220;was tested prior to arriving in Rio and swam without knowing the result of the alleged positive result.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It is also being reported that after being told of the positive test she took her case to the\u00a0Court of Arbitration for Sport in an attempt to avoid a suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Chen is entered to swim the 50 free during <span data-term=\"goog_2035763876\">Friday<\/span> afternoon\u2019s prelims in Rio.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Chen finished sixth in the 100 fly last summer at the World Championships in Kazan, and she also won a gold medal for her prelims leg on China\u2019s 400 medley relay at that meet. She won gold at the 2014 Asian Games in the 50 free, 100 fly and 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>This news comes after a week already plagued by doping controversy. Russian swimmers were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lobintsev-morozov-cleared-for-competition-at-rio-olympics-by-ioc-and-cas\/\" target=\"_blank\">cleared to compete<\/a> at the last minute.\u00a0<strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>has been greeted by jeers and boos. Efimova,\u00a0<strong>Lilly King,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>had a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/lilly-king-michael-phelps-speak-loudly-on-doping-at-the-olympics\/\" target=\"_blank\">tense press conference<\/a> following the 100 breaststroke
