Ukraine’s Andrii Govorov<\/strong>\u00a0will take the center lane in tonight’s second semifinal. Second qualifier\u00a0Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA will lead heat one, racing next to Anthony Ervin\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Cameron McEvoy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>is the only 100 breaststroke medalist appearing in tonight’s 200 final. Australia’s\u00a0Taylor McKeown\u00a0<\/strong>was the fastest qualifier.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 backstroke\u00a0Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>of Russia is the top qualifier.\u00a0Mitch Larkin <\/strong>of Australia\u00a0and\u00a0Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA have posted the world’s two best times this year.<\/p>\n

Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>posted a best time to lead the women’s 200 backstroke semifinals.<\/p>\n

Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>will make his first appearance of the night in the 200 IM final, where he is the fastest qualifier, just ahead of teammate\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong>. The two will meet for their final showdown.<\/p>\n

Cate Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>has lowered the Olympic record in both of her two 100 freestyles so far. The Australian will shoot for gold and her own World Record tonight. Young Canadian\u00a0Penny Oleksiak\u00a0<\/strong>was only .01 behind in semifinals, lowering her own World Junior record in the process.<\/p>\n

After a very short break, Phelps will return to the pool in the 100 butterfly semifinals. The GOAT was fourth this morning as\u00a0Joseph Schooling\u00a0<\/strong>of Singapore earned the top spot.<\/p>\n
