OXFORD, Ohio, July 21. THE first night of long course meter swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Oxford, Ohio featured plenty of times clearing listed meet records.<\/p>\n
Greater Toledo's Jacy Dyer won the women's 800 free in 8:50.56, while Ohio's Amanda Traylor finished second in 8:59.46. Leslie Vanwinkle, swimming unattached, took third in 9:02.23. Club Wolverine's Adam DeJong beat the listed meet record with a time of 15:27.70. That swim smashed the 15:49.95 set by John Kevin Koehler of the Dayton Raiders back in 2005. Boilermaker's Matthew Stewart took second in 15:52.70, while
\nSpartan's Lawrence Ward claimed third in 15:54.23.<\/p>\n
Boilermaker's Allison Smith cleared the listed meet record in the women's 200 back with a 2:14.82. The time cleared the 2:15.02 clocked by Kate McNeilis in March. Redhawk's Kasey Carpenter finished second in 2:15.61 with Carmel's Lauren Jordan taking third in 2:16.80. Ohio State's Phil Seleskie touched in 2:01.16 in the men's 200 back to smash the listed meet record. The readout cleared the 2:04.10 set by Justin Carter in 2008. Carmel's Adam Twer also dipped under the previous mark with a second-place 2:03.89. Boilermaker's Andre Koop finished third in 2:06.47.<\/p>\n
Club Wolverine's Margaret Kelly won the women's 50 free in 26.27, while Boilermaker's Ariel Martin placed second in 26.28. Cincinnati Marlin Sarah Tanner touched third in 26.62. Club Wolverine's Evan Ryser bested the listed meet record in the 50 free with a 22.78. Andrew Langenfeld clocked the previous mark of 22.90 in 2008. Barracuda's Gissel Kohoyda topped the women's 200 breast in 2:35.52. Amanda Rom of Blue Ash finished second in 2:35.97 with Bowling Green's Kelly Titus placing third in 2:38.79. Boilermaker's Jinsoo Kim downed Club Wolverine's Jared Miller, 2:15.47 to 2:15.91, in the men's 200 breast.
