Cate Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>started this morning off with an Olympic record in the women’s 100 freestyle with a 52.78. Her sister\u00a0Bronte\u00a0<\/strong>will join her in tonight’s semifinals. Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>was the second qualifier this morning. She will be joined by American teammate\u00a0Abbey Weitzeil\u00a0<\/strong>in semifinals.<\/p>\n

Russia\u2019s\u00a0Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>was the fastest man in this morning’s 200 backstroke.\u00a0Mitch Larkin<\/strong>, the Australian with the top time in the world this year was third.<\/p>\n

Rikke Moller Pedersen\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>of Denmark will be the top seed in semifinals of the women’s 200 breaststroke.\u00a0Rie Kaneto\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>of Japan qualified second.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 IM,\u00a0Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to a top spot.\u00a0Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>also swam a relaxed race for third.\u00a0Philip Heintz\u00a0<\/strong>of Germany slipped in between the American duo.<\/p>\n

Highlighted by a 1:55.95 split from\u00a0Allison Schmitt,\u00a0<\/strong>the Americans return in the top spot for the women’s 4×200 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n
