THE third night of long course meter swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Gainesville featured a long-standing record being wiped from the record books.<\/p>\n<p>Germantown&#39;s Teresa Crippen cleared a 26-year-old meet record previously held by Tracy Caulkins in the women&#39;s 200 IM.  Crippen stopped the clock in 2:15.96 to beat the 2:16.55 set by Caulkins back in 1983.  Fast Lane&#39;s Lysis Halkides placed second in 2:17.13, while Florida&#39;s Sarah Bateman claimed third in 2:18.82.  Daytona Beach&#39;s Rex Tullius captured the men&#39;s 200 IM in 2:01.49.  Florida&#39;s Conor Dwyer took second in 2:03.84, while Greater Philadelphia&#39;s Michael Joyce completed the podium in 2:05.65.<\/p>\n<p>Baylor&#39;s Stephanie Napier touched out Bateman, 26.00 to 26.02, in the women&#39;s 50 free. Saint Petersburg&#39;s Kaitlin Frehling claimed third in 26.59.  Swim Florida&#39;s Jon Nunez and Dwyer tied in the men&#39;s 50 free with matching 23.34s. Daytona Beach&#39;s Matthew Norton placed third in 23.45.<\/p>\n<p>In another close contest, Gator&#39;s Jamie Bohunicky beat Crippen, 4:17.65 to 4:17.75, in the women&#39;s 400 free. Gator&#39;s Melania Costa Schmid touched third in 4:18.41.  On top of tying for the 50 free title, Dwyer showed some range with a 3:57.08 in the men&#39;s 400 free for the win. The Bolles&#39; Ryan Arabejo took a close second in 3:57.25.  Davie&#39;s Yoelvi Pedraza finished third in 3:57.61.<\/p>\n<p>Gator&#39;s Lily Ramirez (1:02.42) and Riley Flanagan (1:04.95) finished 1-2 in the women&#39;s 100 back. Club Seminole&#39;s Chelsea Hendry took third in 1:05.58.  Area Tallahassee&#39;s Joe Ziegler snatched the men&#39;s 100 back in 57.65.
