This is Chen&#8217;s third gold in the event, she was a part of the gold medal teams in London and Beijing. It was far from a blowout at the pool though, with the top three teams all finishing less than twenty points apart.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Cheong Jun Hoong\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Pandelela Rinong\u00a0<\/strong>took home the silver medal. They we&#8217;re also the runners up after the Chinese team at the world cup earlier this year. The women proved to be worthy competition for the Chinese, trailing them by less then ten points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meaghan Benfeito<\/strong> and <strong>Roseline Filion<\/strong>\u00a0will be brining home the Bronze medal from their the second Olympics in a row for team Canada. They finished only eight points behind the Malaysian women.<\/p>\n<p>American women\u00a0<strong>Jessica Parratto<\/strong> and <strong>Amy Cozad\u00a0<\/strong>finished in seventh place.<\/p>\n<p>This gold medal means that the Chinese have continued their streak of perfection, winning every diving event they have competed in so far. They are well on their way to sweeping all eight doing medals, something no team has ever done.<\/p>\n<p>Still, there is a lot of diving to come. <strong>Zhou Jihong<\/strong>, a leader on the Chinese diving squad, told <a href=\"http:\/\/usa.chinadaily.com.cn\/sports\/2016-05\/12\/content_25238608.htm\" target=\"_blank\">China Daily<\/a> that she is &#8220;worried about all eight events,&#8221; and claims that China has &#8220;no advantage in the men&#8217;s events.&#8221; Only one of the four men&#8217;s events has taken place so far.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow the men will compete on 3m in the last of synchronized diving and divers will move into the highly anticipated individual events.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Erin Keaveny,\u00a0Swimming\u00a0World College Intern As expected, Chinese divers Chen Ruolin and Lui Huixia\u00a0finished out 10m synchro with the gold medal.
