Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>(Australia)\u00a0enters the 100 freestyle semifinals as the top seed with a new World Junior record in tow.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 200 freestyle final\u00a0Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>(Sweden) and\u00a0Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>(USA) will dive in with seed times a bit ahead of the rest of the heat. Italian\u00a0Federica Pellegrini\u00a0<\/strong>is the world record holder, however, and enters in the third spot tonight.<\/p>\n

Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>finally has a chance to win a medal in one of his signature events, the 200 butterfly.\u00a0Tamas Kenderesi\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary has held onto the top seed through two rounds of swimming, however. South Africa’s\u00a0Chad le Clos\u00a0<\/strong>and Hungary’s\u00a0Laszo Cseh\u00a0<\/strong>are also very significant medal threats tonight.<\/p>\n

In the 200 butterfly\u00a0Mireia Belmonte Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>of Spain enters with the top seed. She’ll swim next to\u00a0Hali Flickinger\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA who tied teammate\u00a0Camille Adams\u00a0<\/strong>this morning.\u00a0Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia is also in the second semifinal tonight.<\/p>\n

Anton Chupkov\u00a0<\/strong>of Russia will be top seed in the men’s 200 breaststroke semifinal. Defending gold medalist\u00a0Daniel Gyurta\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary finished 17th.<\/p>\n

Katinka Hosszu\u00a0<\/strong>of Hungary aims for her third gold of the Games in the 200 IM though Great Britain’s\u00a0Siobhan-Marie O’Connor\u00a0<\/strong>is in lane four. 400 IM silver medalist\u00a0Maya DiRado\u00a0<\/strong>will also be shooting for a second podium finish.<\/p>\n
