In the fourth morning of action in Rio, youth led the way in the opening event.\u00a0Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia touched .01 ahead of American\u00a0Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>\u00a0in 100 freestyle prelims.\u00a0<\/strong>Chalmer’s teammate\u00a0Cameron McEvoy\u00a0<\/strong>earned the fourth seed.\u00a0Defending Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>finished sixteenth.<\/p>\n

Mireia Belmonte Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>of Spain posted the fastest 200 butterfly of the morning. Only .03 behind her American teammates\u00a0Cammile Adams\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Hali Flickinger\u00a0<\/strong>tied for the second spot.<\/p>\n

Anton Chupkov\u00a0<\/b>of Russia\u00a0<\/strong>put together a quick prelims 200 breaststroke, finishing\u00a0six tenths ahead of the next best swimmer,\u00a0Yashuri Koseki <\/b>of Japan. Heading to semifinals in the third spot is Great Britain’s\u00a0Andrew Willis.<\/b><\/p>\n

Finals relay lineups will be available later this afternoon.\u00a0Great Britain posted the fastest time of the morning in the men’s 800 freestyle relay though the American and Russian relays were less than a half second behind.<\/p>\n
