PHOENIX, Arizona, July 15. AN American swimmer drops an event from her schedule and one of the greatest figures in swimming is remembered on today's news segment on The Morning Swim Show.<\/i> Following is the complete transcript of the segment, hosted by Peter Busch.<\/p>\n
We have some news to report from the USA Swimming world championship team. Elizabeth Pelton, the 15-year-old who qualified for the big meet in three events, is dropping one of those swim. Pelton will not swim the 200 IM in Rome, saying her swim at trials "was everything I had for this season." This means Ariana Kukors, who finished four-hundredths behind Pelton, will take her place. Kukors was already on the plane to Rome as a member of the 800 free relay. Pelton is still swimming both backstrokes at worlds. (Click the button on the right to watch the news segment.)<\/b><\/p>\n

A memorial service for Jimi Flowers will be held tomorrow in Colorado Springs. Flowers died Friday in a rock climbing accident and was the head coach of the Paralympic swim team in Beijing.
