Over two seconds behind her, 14 year old\u00a0<strong>Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>out of Riptide Swim Team improved her seed time by nearly four seconds to finish second in 2:12.90. Also with a big drop, Tide Swimming&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Callie Dickinson<\/strong> claimed the third spot in 2:13.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ashly Fiorilli<\/strong> of Texas Ford Aquatics was fourth with a time of 2:14.31. Highlander&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carley Lowe<\/strong> out touched Crimson&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jewels Harris<\/strong> for the fifth spot, with times of 2:14.68 and 2:14.70 respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coleen Gillilan<\/strong> of Fort Collins (2:15.29) and\u00a0Brea Aquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Kenisha Liu<\/strong> (2:15.60) rounded out the top eight qualifiers for tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s 200 Butterfly:<\/h2>\n<p>Tying his entry time, North Carolina Aquatic Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>William Macmillan<\/strong> retained his top seed for tonight&#8217;s final, swimming a time of 2:00.33. Just behind him for the second spot is\u00a0<strong>Fynn Minuth\u00a0<\/strong>who dropped two seconds to finish in 2:00.62.\u00a0<strong>Spencer Carl\u00a0<\/strong>of Michigan Lakeshore will be third tonight, with a time of 2:01.27.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the fourth spot in tonight&#8217;s final is\u00a0<strong>Jack LeVant<\/strong>, representing the North Texas Nadaores, who touched in 2:01.73. Sandpiper&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Carter Grimes\u00a0<\/strong>is fifth in 2:02.98.<\/p>\n<p>Sixth through eight place were separated by a mere tenth of a second, with Irvine Novaquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Andrew Koustik<\/strong> at 2:02.98 for sixth,\u00a0<strong>Alex Dillmann<\/strong> of Maverick in seventh at 2:03.00, and Memphis Thunder&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack McCaghren\u00a0<\/strong>eighth in 2:03.08.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke:<\/h2>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 100 breaststroke, 15 year old\u00a0<strong>Zoe Bartel<\/strong> of Fort Collins swam the top time of the morning in dominating fashion. Her 1:09.26 was nearly a second and a half ahead of Champaign County YMCA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ema Rajic<\/strong>, who came in at 1:10.65. Just behind her for third was Firestone Akron&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hanna Gresser<\/strong> in 1:10.75.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth went to\u00a0<strong>Halle Morris<\/strong> of North Bay with a time of 1:10.81.\u00a0<strong>Olivia Calegan<\/strong>, representing Greater Nebraska, was fifth in 1:11.32.<\/p>\n<p>Following her teammate Gresser,\u00a0<strong>Carly Hart<\/strong> took sixth in 1:11.45. Just behind her for seventh was Texas Ford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rachel Ramey<\/strong> in 1:11.46.\u00a0<strong>Alicia Harrison<\/strong> of Buenaventura completed the top eight qualifiers with a time of 1:11.52.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke:<\/h2>\n<p>Continuing the trend of the morning,\u00a0the National Age Group record holder in this event,\u00a0<strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong>, held onto the top seed in 1:00.75, about a second off his NAG record. Second place went to\u00a0<strong>Devon Nowicki\u00a0<\/strong>of Aqua Swim Club, who touched in a time of 1:01.49. These two led the field by a large margin, with third place finisher\u00a0<strong>Daniel Roy<\/strong> of Spokane coming in at 1:03.70.<\/p>\n<p>Mason Manta Rays&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Jake Foster<\/strong> took the fourth spot in 1:03.91, while\u00a0<strong>AJ Bornstein\u00a0<\/strong>of Ridgefield was fifth in 1:03.97.\u00a0<strong>Charles Scheinfeld<\/strong>, representing New Trier, touched sixth in 1:04.08.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top eight for tonight&#8217;s final were\u00a0<strong>Mitch Hovis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.40) of King Aquatic Club and\u00a0<strong>Dillon Hillis<\/strong> (1:04.41) of Manhattan Makos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Caitlin Daday, Swimming World College Intern Everything you need to follow along with prelims of day one of the 2016 Speedo Junior National Championships.
