Night two of Olympic swimming action did not disappoint.<\/p>\n

Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>secured his 19th Olympic gold medal in the 400 freestyle relay as he and\u00a0Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>,\u00a0Ryan Held<\/strong>, and\u00a0Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>held off the French and Australian teams.<\/p>\n

Sarah Sjostrom\u00a0<\/strong>started the night in world record fashion. She was followed on the 100 butterfly podium by Canada’s\u00a0Penny Oleksiak\u00a0<\/strong>and the United States’\u00a0Dana Vollmer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Great Britain’s\u00a0Adam Peaty\u00a0<\/strong>lowered his own world record to take gold in the men’s 100 breaststroke.<\/p>\n

Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>was the third swimmer of the night to best her own world mark on her way to gold in the 400 freestyle. The 19 year old has now earned two medals in two days and is expected to continue a historic Games.<\/p>\n

Americans\u00a0Ryan Murphy\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0David Plummer\u00a0<\/strong>took the top two spots for tomorrow night’s 100 backstroke finals while their teammate\u00a0Kathleen Baker\u00a0<\/strong>led the way for the women.<\/p>\n

Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>of the USA and Russia’s\u00a0Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>set themselves up to go head to head for gold in tomorrow’s 100 breaststroke final.<\/p>\n
