The United States will go with\u00a0a team of\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Michael Phelps<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Held<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Nathan Adrian<\/strong>. Held beat out the three other men who swam on the U.S. prelims relay to earn a spot in the final with the two American qualifiers in the individual 100 free as well as Phelps, who&#8217;s making his Rio Olympics debut.<\/p>\n<p>The top-seeded Russians will go with\u00a0<strong>Andrey Grechin<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Danila Izotov<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Vladimir Morozov<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Alexander Sukhurukov<\/strong>. All but Morozov swam in the morning heats.<\/p>\n<p>Australia will go with\u00a0<strong>James Roberts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kyle Chalmers\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>James Magnussen\u00a0<\/strong>in front of 100 free world leader\u00a0<strong>Cameron McEvoy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The French will seek to repeat their gold medal from lane six, and they have\u00a0<strong>Mehdy Metella<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Fabien Gilot<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Florent Manaudou\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Stravius\u00a0<\/strong>going for them. This will be the third straight Olympics Gilot has appeared on France&#8217;s relay, winning a silver in 2008 and gold in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Canada (leading off with\u00a0<strong>Santo Condorelli<\/strong>) and Brazil (<strong>Marcelo Cherighini\u00a0<\/strong>going first) could get off to quick starts, but neither is likely to be able to hold the quick pace of the top four squads.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One hour before the second night of finals at the Olympics in Rio, the lineups came out for the 400 free relay.
