THE European Junior Championships featured four more continental junior marks taking a tumble during the second day of action.<\/p>\n<p>During prelims, Russia&#39;s Daniil Izotov cleared the European junior record with a time of 49.20 in the men&#39;s 100 free.  Luca Leonardi of Italy, meanwhile, one-upped him in semis with a 48.85. The finale will take place tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Silke Lippok of Germany topped the women&#39;s 100 free in 55.02 for the European Junior record.  Italy&#39;s Silvia Di Pietro (55.58) and France&#39;s Camille Radou (55.87) completed the podium in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#39;s Daryna Zevina rolled to the European Junior standard in the women&#39;s 200 back with a 2:10.08, which also beat the Ukrainian record of 2:10.82 set by Iryna Amshenikova back in 2003. Poland&#39;s Klaudia Nazieblo took second in 2:13.08, while Germany&#39;s Doerte Baumert finished third in 2:13.40.<\/p>\n<p>The German foursome of Julika Niegisch, Juliane Reinhold, Lina Rathsack and Lippok closed the night with a 3:45.27 for the European Junior record in the women&#39;s 400 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>In other finals action, Hungary&#39;s Gergely Gyurta won the men&#39;s 1500 free in 15:14.39.  Italy&#39;s Alessandro Cuoghi (15:20.52) and Spain&#39;s Adrian Mantas Mota finished third in 15:24.32.<\/p>\n<p>Poland&#39;s Mirela Olczak followed with a triumphant time in the women&#39;s 200 fly with a 2:09.32.  Hungary&#39;s Boglarka Kapas wound up second in 2:09.84 with Italy&#39;s Denise Riccobono completing the top three in 2:10.31.<\/p>\n<p>Marco Fanti Rovetta of Italy snatched the men&#39;s 100 back title in 55.55.  Hungary&#39;s Adam Szilagyi (55.64) and Italy&#39;s Stefano Pizzamiglio (55.82) also cleared 56 seconds to finish second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#39;s Christian Vom Lehn earned an easy victory in the men&#39;s 200 breast with a time of 2:11.07.  Russia&#39;s Maxim Shcherbakov finished a second behind with a second-place 2:12.83.  Greece&#39;s Dimitrios Koulouris rounded out the podium with a third-place 2:14.68.  <\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands&#39; Sharon Van Rouwendaal picked up the women&#39;s 400 free title in 4:12.35.
