{"id":215811,"date":"2016-08-04T11:28:49","date_gmt":"2016-08-04T18:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=215811"},"modified":"2016-08-04T11:28:49","modified_gmt":"2016-08-04T18:28:49","slug":"215811-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/215811-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Former WADA Investigator Blames WADA President Craig Reedie For Russian Mess"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In what appears to be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/olympics\/story\/_\/id\/17216875\/former-wada-chief-investigator-says-wada-president-delayed-process\" target=\"_blank\">bit of a tell-all<\/a>\u00a0with Pro Republica, former World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) chief investigator,\u00a0<strong>Jack Robertson<\/strong>, claims that WADA&#8217;s president,\u00a0<strong>Craig Reedie<\/strong>, dragged his feet in dealing with allegations regarding the Russian doping situation &#8220;leading to the 11th-hour debate on whether athletes should be allowed to compete in the Olympics.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If Robertson&#8217;s allegations are correct this would mean that WADA has known since last August that they would need to do an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=3&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=0ahUKEwjHt_aenKjOAhUD6SYKHUloBnkQFggsMAI&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.swimmingworldmagazine.com%2Fnews%2Fwhat-the-independent-investigation-into-russias-systematic-doping-program-means-to-swimming%2F&amp;usg=AFQjCNH9gqxEamIxLpzmE1GRHbCHMXOVSw&amp;sig2=JYajkaljwdCSiwYf1grIJA\" target=\"_blank\">independent commission report<\/a> but chose to wait.<\/p>\n<p>According to Robertson,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\">We knew since last August and WADA waited until May to name an independent commission to investigate all Russian sport and the lab. In November, after the first investigation press conference, [Olympic cross-country ski champion and chair of the WADA athletes&#8217; committee] Beckie Scott demanded that WADA investigate other sports, not just athletics. [WADA president Craig] Reedie said he&#8217;d take it under advisement, and he blew her off.
