LOS ANGELES, California, June 17. THE world's best male water polo players will compete for $500,000 in prize money and the coveted championship title in the FINA Men's Water Polo World League Super Final this week. Universal Sports, in partnership with the International Swimming Federation (FINA) will provide live online and television coverage of the event from Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, with live streaming starting this Thursday at 1 p.m. ET as the USA takes on Serbia. The tournament will serve as a tune-up for the 13th FINA World Championships from Rome, beginning July 17, on NBC Sports and Universal Sports.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE EVENT: The FINA Men's Water Polo World League Super Final takes place June 16 \u2013 21, and will feature the teams that emerged from the preliminary rounds, including the United States, Serbia, Japan, Italy (Group A) and Australia, Montenegro, South Africa and Croatia (Group B). In 2008, Serbia's team took first place in the Super Final, followed by the U.S. and Australia in third. Since the league began, Serbia has won the most gold medals of any team.
