AUSTIN, Texas, June 12. JACKSON Wilcox completed the night with a pair of individual victories at the Texas Senior Circuit event held in Austin. Wilcox claimed the 400 free and 200 fly crowns. Meanwhile, Dara Torres and Garrett Weber-Gale put together some stellar 50 free swims.<\/p>\n
Kristen Heiss of Texas A&M touched out Kelsey Leneave of The Woodlands, 4:19.53 to 4:19.75, for the women's 400 free title. Longhorn's Susana Escobar tied Catherine Wagner for third with matching 4:24.31s.<\/p>\n
Longhorn's Aaron Peirsol ripped off a time of 3:55.46 during prelims of the men's 400 free, but elected to scratch finals. Wilcox wound up winning the title in the finale with a 3:56.81. Matt Barber of Blue Tied finished second in 3:58.15 with James Robertson of Longhorn claiming third in 4:01.66.<\/p>\n
Elizabeth Tinnon followed with a winning time of 2:28.78 in the women's 200 breast. Katie Meili of the North Texas Nadadores placed a distant second in 2:35.18. Marylyn Toledo of the Dallas Mustangs completed the top three in 2:40.12.<\/p>\n
In a heavyweight battle, Longhorn's Eric Shanteau utilized a 34.62 final split to overtake Coral Spring's Vlad Polyakov, 2:14.36 to 2:14.88, in the men's 200 breast. Longhorn's Matthew Lowe touched third in 2:15.84.<\/p>\n
Houston's Sasha Schwendenwein held off The Woodlands' Erin Foster, 2:17.04 to 2:17.54, for the women's 200 fly victory. Lisa Ginder claimed third in 2:20.05.<\/p>\n
Wilcox returned for a second gold medal of the evening with a 2:02.45 in the men's 200 fly. Neil Caskey finished second in 2:03.76, while Plano's Seth Stubblefield, 15, wound up third in 2:05.58.<\/p>\n
At the second leg of the Texas Senior Circuit in College Station, Torres shot down the American record in the women's 50 fly during both prelims and finals. Another Texas-sized American record was not in the cards for the 42-year-old as Torres blazed to a winning time of 24.75 in the women's 50 free. She owns the national mark with a 24.07 from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Dallas Mustang Martina Moravcova, 33, took second in 25.67, while Longhorn's Tanica Jamison placed third in 26.46.<\/p>\n
