Schmitt offered thanks to her parents for their unwavering support throughout her career.<\/p>\n<p>The 26 year old reflected on the moment when she stood on the podium receiving her gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games. Schmitt claimed five medals in London. She will swim the 800 and 400 freestyle relays in Rio.
