Junior National Team member\u00a0<strong>Katie Drabot <\/strong>from\u00a0Ozaukee Aquatics led the pack with a time of 55.55. Unattached\u00a0<strong>Kristin Malone\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 56.22, followed by Wisconsin Aquatic&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marissa Berg<\/strong>\u00a0with a 56.60.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin Aquatics dominated the men&#8217;s event, with <strong>Brett Pinfold<\/strong>\u00a0taking first in\u00a049.94 and his teammate <strong>Sean Maloney<\/strong>\u00a0in second with a\u00a050.59. <strong>Bowen Becker<\/strong> of the University of Minnesota took third with a time of 51.53.<\/p>\n<p>Next up was the 200 breaststroke. <strong>Maria Carlson<\/strong> of Wisconsin Aquatics won with a 2:31.19, followed by University of Minnesota&#8217;s <strong>Kaela Marcus<\/strong> in 2:33.95.\u00a0<strong>Noella Peplowski\u00a0<\/strong>of Bloomington\/Normal YMCA finished third with a 2:36.21.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin Aquatics also won the 200 breaststroke on the men&#8217;s side, with\u00a0<strong>Chris Wills\u00a0<\/strong>clocking a time of 2:20.79.\u00a0<strong>Brenner Hohenstein\u00a0<\/strong>of Minnetonka Swim Club came in second in 2:22.07, while Elmbrook Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benjamin <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Attenberger<\/strong>\u00a0finished with a 2:24.69.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following the 200 breaststroke was the 200 butterfly. Future Mizzou swimmer\u00a0<strong>Azra Avdic\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the field, winning by five seconds in a time of 2:13.92. Fourteen year old\u00a0<strong>Emma Lasecki\u00a0<\/strong>of Green Bay Swim Club took second with a 2:19.02.\u00a0<strong>Katherine<\/strong><strong> Rentz <\/strong>of Academy Bullets\u00a0followed Lasecki, clocking a 2:19.93.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 200 fly, Maverick Swim Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alexander Dillmann\u00a0<\/strong>dropped four seconds from his prelim swim, finishing with a 2:02.76.\u00a0<strong>Harrison Tran\u00a0<\/strong>of Wisconsin Aquatics placed second in a 2:03.56. Dillman&#8217;s teammate\u00a0<strong>Scott Piper<\/strong> took third in a 2:03.70.<\/p>\n<p>The final event of the night was the 800 freestyle. Future Indiana University distance swimmer\u00a0<strong>Cassandra Jernberg\u00a0<\/strong>lead the pack with a time of 8:50.98, followed by Northwestern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ella Tierney <\/strong>in\u00a08:58.14. <strong>Rachel Powers <\/strong>of Madison Aquatic Club claimed third, earning her first Summer Junior Nationals cut.<\/p>\n<p>Unattached <strong>Nicholas Plachinkski\u00a0<\/strong>finished first in an 8:29.12, while\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Gavars\u00a0<\/strong>clocked an 8:32.51 to take second.\u00a0<strong>Matthew Hedman\u00a0<\/strong>of Edina finished third in an 8:36.94.<\/p>\n<p>All results can be found on Meet Mobile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Allison Pierce, Swimming World College Intern The first night of competition at the Speedo Sectionals in Brown Deer kicked off with the 100 freestyle.
