The Qatar based network will be using Hackett for previews and reviews of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Hackett told media, &#8220;After swimming at three Games and doing commentary in London, I was worried I wouldn&#8217;t be involved but this opportunity came up and I thought &#8216;great&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2016-australian-championships\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Olympic Trials<\/a> in April\u00a0Hackett <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/australian-legend-grant-hackett-misses-chance-qualifying-4th-olympic-games\/\" target=\"_blank\">came up short<\/a> of a fourth Olympic bid after finishing 11th in the 200 freestyle. He had the possibility of being selected as a mentor for the Australian team that is hoping to bounce back from a disappointing performance in London. He also was expected to commentate for the Seven Network.<\/p>\n<p>But then, on his flight home from the Trials, the 36 year old had an on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/grant-hackett-allegedly-involved-in-airplane-altercation\/\" target=\"_blank\">flight altercation<\/a>. As a result of the incident, Hackett lost both of his possible roles at the Rio Games.<\/p>\n<p>Hackett reports being pleased to have been given another opportunity and to remain involved. He said, &#8220;We were laughing about it just the other day. Grant Hacket, live from Qatar&#8230;I never thought I&#8217;d have a lead-in like that.
