Earlier this week, the 24 year old was cleared to compete, despite testing positive for\u00a0meldonium earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>This morning Efimova posted a 2:29.48 to take the top seed in the 200 breaststroke. Tonight she swam a 2:22.77 to win the event. That time is the seventh best in the world this year. Efimova already owns the second best with her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/yuliya-efimova-scorches-200-breast-with-2nd-ranked-221-41\/\" target=\"_blank\">2:21.41 swum in Orlando<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n<p>In prelims Efimova also finished 225th in the 50 freestyle, though she likely swam it breaststroke. Her final time in that event was a 31.19, though if it were breaststroke, that time would still unofficially rank outside the world&#8217;s top 20 this year.<\/p>\n<p>Efimova is entered in the 100 breaststroke tomorrow morning. She holds the world&#8217;s second best time (1:05.70) in that event.<\/p>\n<p>Her last meet was the\u00a0Arena Pro Swim Series Orlando in March. At that meet, her 200 vaulted her to second in the world and at the time, and she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/yuliya-efimova-posts-top-ranked-105-70-in-100-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\">topped the world rankings<\/a> in the 100. She has been entered in a few meets this spring, but never actually raced.<\/p>\n<p>Efimova will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/yuliya-efimova-listed-russias-olympic-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\">represent Russia<\/a> in Rio next month.
