Despite a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/inge-dekker-undergoes-successful-cervical-cancer-surgery\/\" target=\"_blank\">battle with cancer<\/a>, veteran\u00a0<strong>Inge Dekker\u00a0<\/strong>is also on the roster.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Femke Heemskerk\u00a0<\/strong>will head to her third Games to swim the 100 and 200 freestyle and the 400 and 800 freestyle relays.<\/p>\n<p>After swimming backstroke in London\u00a0<strong>Sharon van Rouwendaal\u00a0<\/strong>is entered in the 400 and 800 freestyles and open water in Rio.<\/p>\n<p>They are joined by six first time Olympians. Lousiville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Andrea Kneppers\u00a0<\/strong>and Tennessee&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Maud van der Meer<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Robin Neumann<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Esmee Vermeulen<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Marrit Steenbergen\u00a0<\/strong>will make their debut in Rio.<\/p>\n<p>Fresh off his 10K European Open Water championships is\u00a0<strong>Ferry Weertman\u00a0<\/strong>will enter his first Games.\u00a0<strong>Sebastiaan Verschuren\u00a0<\/strong>enters his second games in the 100 and 200 freestyle as well as the 800 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n<p>NCAA Division II star<strong>\u00a0Dion Dreesens\u00a0<\/strong>heads to his second Olympics in the 200 freestyle and the 800 freestyle relay.<strong> Joeri Verlinden\u00a0<\/strong>will swim the 100 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Schwietert<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a0Kyle Stolk\u00a0<\/strong>will be first time Olympians on the 800 freestyle relay.\u00a0<strong>Maarten Brzoskowski\u00a0<\/strong>will join them while also swimming the 400 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Philippe Lucas, Patrick Pearson, Martin Truijens <\/strong>and<strong> Marcel Wouda\u00a0<\/strong>are the nation&#8217;s coaches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal Dutch Swimming Federation has announced a 17 swimmer Olympic roster.
