The women will sprint through the shortest event on the schedule while the men will tackle the longest pool event.<\/p>\n<p>This morning,\u00a0<strong>Natalie Coughlin\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/natalie-coughlin-pulls-out-of-50-free-at-olympic-trials-not-retiring\/\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a> that she would be pulling out of the 50 freestyle. She was the fourth seed. Eleventh seed\u00a0<strong>Amy Bilquist\u00a0<\/strong>has dropped the 50 freestyle as well.
