His time of 1:53.95 ranks second in the world this year. He will also represent Team USA in the 100 back, which he won earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy&#8217;s\u00a0teammate <strong>Jacob Pebley <\/strong>will join him in Rio. Pebley earned his first Olympic berth after\u00a0finishing second in 1:54.77.\u00a0They train at Cal under head coach\u00a0<strong>Dave Durden\u00a0<\/strong>and finished first and second in the 200 yard backstroke at the 2016 NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Pebley talked to the media after his race about his emotional finish and\u00a0Murphy talked about controlling his race.
