MASTERS national records were taken to a new level in the 40-44 age group last weekend, as Mike Ross put his stamp on five new short course yards records at the Colonies Zone Championships in Fairfax, Va.<\/p>\n<p>Following are the records broken by Ross, 41, representing Maine Masters (old records in parentheses):<\/p>\n<p>200y IM: 1:51.85 (Roque Santos, 1:55.82)<\/p>\n<p>50y back: 22.77 (Ross, 23.18)<\/p>\n<p>50y fly: 22.61 (Steven Hiltabiddle, 22.82)<\/p>\n<p>100y back: 48.49 (Ross, 49.40)<\/p>\n<p>50y free: 20.84 (Paul Smith, 20.95)<\/p>\n<p>Ross&#39; times in the 50 and 100 backstrokes were the fastest times swum in United States Masters Swimming history.
