Cordes swam on world record pace through the 150 meter mark and topped prelims with a 2:08.54. That is the sixth best time in the world this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will Licon\u00a0<\/strong>was out quickly and won the first circle seeded heat in 2:09.43. That time is now the tenth\u00a0fastest in the world this year.\u00a0<strong>Nic Fink\u00a0<\/strong>was also strong with a 2:10.10, just off his season&#8217;s best 2:09.89.<\/p>\n<p>Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>was a World University Games gold medalist last summer. He swam a superb final 50 for a final time of 2:10.68 and the fourth spot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>charged to the lead in the first half of the second circle seed.
