Women’s 100m Butterfly Final<\/strong><\/p>\n

American record holder\u00a0Dana Vollmer<\/strong>\u00a0got to the 50 meter wall first, under American record pace,\u00a0<\/strong>but short course American record holder\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>came off the wall faster and blew by Vollmer in the final 15 meters.<\/p>\n

Worrell became a first time Olympian with her 56.48, a best time by four tenths and the second fastest time in the world this year.\u00a0Vollmer stopped the clock in 57.21 to also punch her ticket to Rio.<\/p>\n

Kendyl Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>was over a second behind in third with a 58.22<\/p>\n

Sixteen year old\u00a0Cassidy Bayer\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 58.35.\u00a0NCAA runner up\u00a0Sarah Gibson\u00a0<\/strong>finished fifth in a 58.79.\u00a02012 Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Claire Donahue\u00a0<\/strong>touched sixth in 58.81.\u00a0Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>of UNC Chapel Hill finished seventh in 59.23 and\u00a0Hali Flickinger<\/strong>\u00a0completed the final in 59.31.<\/p>\n

Men’s 200 Freestyle Semifinal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conor Dwyer<\/strong>, who already made the team in the 400 freestyle led the pack in the second semifinal through the 150 meters. Despite\u00a0Ryan<\/strong> Lochte<\/strong>‘s\u00a0epic underwaters, Dwyer finished first in 1:46.96 for tomorrow’s final.<\/p>\n

Jack Conger\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the opening semifinal with a 1:47.15. Just .03 behind him was short course American record holder\u00a0<\/strong>Townley Haas\u00a0<\/strong>in 1:47.18.\u00a0And completing a trifecta of Texas Longhorns was Clark Smith\u00a0<\/strong>in fourth overall with a 1:47.49.<\/p>\n

Lochte made it to the wall fifth in 1:47.58, setting himself up for a chance at Rio after missing out in last night’s 40 IM.<\/p>\n

Tyler Clary\u00a0<\/strong>scratched the 400 IM last night to focus on this race and finished third in the first semifinal with a 1:47.66, good for sixth overall.<\/p>\n

Gunnar Bentz\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.80) and\u00a0Jonathan Roberts\u00a0<\/strong>(1:47.94) also earned lanes in tomorrow’s final.<\/p>\n

World junior record holder\u00a0Maxime Rooney<\/strong> (1:47.98) and\u00a0Michael Klueh\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.14) finished ninth and tenth. Distance man\u00a0Connor Jaeger\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.27),\u00a0Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.44),\u00a0Michael Wynalda\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.51),\u00a0Michael Weiss\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.62),\u00a0Reed Malone\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.85), and\u00a0Zane Grother\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.24) completed tonight’s semifinals.<\/p>\n

Women’s 100 Breaststroke Semifinal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Short course American record holder\u00a0Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>was dominant in the second semifinal, finishing in 1:05.94, good for the top seed.<\/p>\n

Twenty four year old\u00a0Molly Hannis\u00a0<\/strong>of Tennessee Aquatics won the first semifinal in 1:06.24, just off her season’s best 1:06.16.\u00a0Katie Meili\u00a0<\/strong>was second to the wall with a 1:06.73, not far from her season’s best of 1:06.49.<\/p>\n

2012 Olympian\u00a0Jessica Hardy\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in her semifinal and fourth overall with a 1:06.73.\u00a0Sarah Haase\u00a0<\/strong>of Stanford had a breakthrough swim earlier this month in Santa Clara and will return fifth tomorrow night with her 1:07.15.<\/p>\n

Andee Cottrell\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.44),\u00a0Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.49),\u00a0and\u00a0Miranda Tucker\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.60) also secured lanes in tomorrow’s final.<\/p>\n

2012 Olympian Breeja Larson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.62)\u00a0finished ninth and will miss the final. She was followed by\u00a0Annie Lazor\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.00),\u00a0Allie Raab\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.12),\u00a0Haley Spencer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.19), and\u00a0Emma Reaney\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.40).<\/p>\n

Olivia Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.57),\u00a0Michah Lawrence\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.60), and\u00a0Katharine Ross\u00a0<\/strong>(1:08.65) also swam tonight.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Breaststroke Final<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>was out under American record pace and held on to get to the final wall first in 59.18. Just behind was\u00a0Badger Swim Club’s\u00a0Cody Miller\u00a0<\/strong>in 59.26. The two will head to Rio as first time Olympians.<\/p>\n

Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>of Cal finished third, over a half second behind in 59.81.<\/p>\n

Michael Andrew\u00a0<\/strong>once again lowered his National Age Group record and World Junior record with a fourth place finish of 59.82.<\/p>\n

Andrew Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>was the last swimmer under a minute with a 59.97. Thirty year old\u00a0Marcus Titus\u00a0<\/strong>placed sixth in 1:00.38.<\/p>\n

Nic Fink\u00a0<\/strong>was seventh in 1:00.39 and\u00a0Will Licon\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth to the wall in 1:00.61.<\/p>\n

Women’s 400 Freestyle Final<\/strong><\/p>\n

Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>was incredibly aggressive at the start and over two seconds ahead of world record pace at the 200 meter mark. While it escaped her at the end, she still posted a 3:58.98.<\/p>\n

Leah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 4:00.65 and also challenged the world record mark at the halfway point. She swam a best time by over two seconds. The two posted the top two times in the world this year as they dominated the field.<\/p>\n

Cierra Runge\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 4:07.04. Her training partner Allison Schmitt\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth with a 4:09.25.\u00a0Lindsay Vrooman\u00a0<\/strong>was fourth in 4:08.99.<\/p>\n

Stephanie Peacock\u00a0<\/strong>outtouched\u00a0Hannah Moore\u00a0<\/strong>4:09.53 to 4:09.54.\u00a0Hannah Cox\u00a0<\/strong>was eighth in 4:09.72.<\/p>\n

Men’s 100 Backstroke Semifinals<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ryan Murphy<\/strong> was under world record pace at the halfway mark and won the first semifinal in 52.28, the fastest time in the world this year.<\/p>\n

In the next heat,\u00a0David Plummer\u00a0<\/strong>also flipped under world record pace and then posted a final time of 52.12, to take back the number one world ranking. That time was the fifth fastest ever.<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medalist Matt Grevers\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 52.64 for the third seed entering tomorrow’s final.\u00a0Jacob Pebley\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 53.10 for second in the first semifinal, and the fourth overall seed. Seventeen year old\u00a0Michael Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>earned fifth in 54.07.<\/p>\n

Sean Lehane\u00a0<\/strong>(54.08), John Shebat\u00a0<\/strong>(54.52), and\u00a0Jake Taylor\u00a0<\/strong>(54.63) also earned lanes in tomorrow’s final.<\/p>\n

Hennessey Stuart\u00a0<\/strong>(54.66), Taylor Dale\u00a0<\/strong>(54.75),\u00a0Eugene Godsoe\u00a0<\/strong>(54.84),\u00a0Justin Ress\u00a0<\/strong>(54.90),\u00a0Patrick Mulcare\u00a0<\/strong>(54.93), Ryan Harty\u00a0<\/strong>(55.24)\u00a0Austin Katz\u00a0<\/strong>(55.43) and Carter Griffin\u00a0<\/strong>(55.50)\u00a0completed tonight’s semifinals.<\/p>\n

Women’s 100 Backstroke Semifinals<\/strong><\/p>\n

This morning’s leader\u00a0Olivia Smoliga\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in 59.16, a new personal best and the fifth best in the world this year.\u00a0SwimMAC’s\u00a0Kathleen Baker\u00a0<\/strong>led the second semifinal at the halfway mark and came home second in 59.36.<\/p>\n

Cal’s\u00a0Amy Bilquist\u00a0<\/strong>won the first semifinal as the only swimmer under a minute in 59.85 and took the third seed.\u00a0Hannah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>of the University of Missouri\u00a0was fourth overall in 1:00.07.<\/p>\n

Ali Deloof<\/strong>\u00a0of the University of Michigan and her teammate Clara Smiddy <\/strong>are fifth and sixth in 1:00.11 and\u00a0<\/strong>1:00.29.<\/p>\n

Olympic gold medalist in this event\u00a0Missy Franklin\u00a0<\/strong>ended up seventh with a 1:00.45. Twelve time Olympic medalist\u00a0Natalie Coughlin\u00a0<\/strong>just snuck into the final with a 1:00.46.<\/p>\n

Only .03 behind was\u00a0Grace Ariola\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.49) in ninth.\u00a0Tasija Karosas\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.79) was tenth and fourteen year old Alex Walsh\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.95)\u00a0finished 11th.<\/p>\n

Regan Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(1:00.96),\u00a0Daniele Galyer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.01),\u00a0Annie Ochitwa\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.28),\u00a0Lucie Nordmann\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.42), and\u00a0Taylor Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>(1:01.66) completed the semifinals.<\/p>\n
