Chase Kalisz<\/strong> claimed his Olympic berth after finishing first in the men’s 400 IM. He\u00a0touched the wall\u00a0in 4:09.54, just off his personal best time of 4:09.22. Coach\u00a0Bob Bowman<\/strong> knows Kalisz\u00a0can go a lot faster, saying he\u00a0swam in a way to just win the race.<\/p>\n

Kalisz redshirted last year from the University of Georgia and thanked his family, friends, and coaches for their support. Bowman and Kalisz joked about how hard Michael Phelps<\/strong> is on him,\u00a0but says\u00a0he loves training with him.<\/p>\n

Bowman and Kalisz\u00a0discussed how making the Olympic team has always been the\u00a0goal and knows that “there’s a lot more in the tank.”\u00a0The two\u00a0also talked about how he has progressed since 2012, tonight’s expectations, and his relationship with Phelps.<\/p>\n
