Grothe entered this year&#8217;s world top 20\u00a0with that swim.<\/p>\n<p>The top three swimmers in the second circle seeded\u00a0had a close race that came down to the final 100 meters.\u00a0<strong>Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 3:47.15 for tonight&#8217;s second seed. He has been faster this year in 3:46.09, just earlier this month in Santa Clara.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Jaeger\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 3:47.97 for fourth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Townley Haas\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.09),\u00a0<strong>True Sweetster\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.20),\u00a0<strong>Clark Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(3:48.86), and\u00a0<strong>Grant Shoults\u00a0<\/strong>(3:50.52) should complete tonight&#8217;s final, pending the results of the later heats.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"209159\"
