His teammate\u00a0<strong>Julian Weir\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 50.85 and Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jake Kersten\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 50.13.<\/p>\n<p>The Australians started the night off with a bang, taking the top two spots in the women&#8217;s 400 IM.\u00a0<strong>Acacia Wildin-Snedden\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 4:49.84, ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Bec Cross<\/strong>&#8216; 4:54.64.\u00a0<strong>Yeonsu Lee\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand finished third in 5:05.38.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand fired back in the men&#8217;s event as\u00a0<strong>Andrew Trembath\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Blake Gunn\u00a0<\/strong>seized gold and silver in 4:32.82 and 4:35.97. Third went to\u00a0<strong>Brandon Schuster\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:36.13.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabrielle Fa&#8217;amausili\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand took her second backstroke title of the week with a 29.19 50 backstroke. Second went to Australian\u00a0<strong>Abby Duncan\u00a0<\/strong>(29.77) while her teammate\u00a0<strong>Mikaela Cornelissen\u00a0<\/strong>was just over the 30 second mark in 30.09.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 50 backstroke,\u00a0<strong>Zac Incerti\u00a0<\/strong>of Australia stopped the clock in 25.91. Silver went to Papau New Guinea&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ryan Pini\u00a0<\/strong>in 26.43 and New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bayley Main\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 26.43.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Helena Gasson\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed gold in 56.49 in the women&#8217;s 100 freestyle. Her New Zealand teammate\u00a0<strong>Carina Doyle\u00a0<\/strong>tied for second with Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Natasha Ramsden\u00a0<\/strong>in 57.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bronagh Ryan\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand out touched 16 year old Cross for the 100 breaststroke title- 1:11.71 to 1:11.90. Another 16 year old,\u00a0<strong>Ellie Eastwood\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand finished third in 1:14.61.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke was an even tighter battle.\u00a0<strong>Jacob Garrod\u00a0<\/strong>of New Zealand stopped the clock in 1:03.31 and Guam&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Benji Schulte\u00a0<\/strong>touched next in 1:03.46. The fight for bronze was close as well between Australian&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nathan Zhu\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Zac Stubblety-Cook\u00a0<\/strong>who finished in 1:03.94 and 1:04.02.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0Fa&#8217;amausili,\u00a0<strong>Jacob Garrod<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emily Rennell<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Hunter\u00a0<\/strong>earned 200 mixed medley relay gold in 1:48.65.
