USA Swimming announced the meet line up for the 2017 Arena Pro Swim Series, this afternoon. Next year’s series will feature only five stops.<\/p>\n
Action will begin in Austin January 13-15, meaning USA Swimming is forgoing the usual Minneapolis opener.<\/p>\n
Instead of a March competition in Orlando, Indianapolis will host the meet from March 2-4. This year, that stop took place in June, on the same weekend as Santa Clara.<\/p>\n
Mesa will once again play host to outdoor racing, this time April 13-15. In May, the series will stop at the 1996 Georgia Tech Olympic Pool in Atlanta, from the 4-7. This summer, that pool was home to a very well attended Atlanta Classic, the third weekend in May.<\/p>\n
Santa Clara will again be the final meet of the series, taking place June 1-4 next summer. While that may be the final stop of the Pro Swim Series, it will not be the end of next summer’s point tallying. At the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships, USA Swimming will award double points. That meet will also take place in Indianapolis, June 27-July 1.<\/p>\n
At other meets throughout the season, prizes will remain the same as this year, with event winners earning $500, runner ups $300 and third place finishers $100.<\/p>\n
