The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have named their 2015-2016 Academic All-America At Large teams, and 88 swimmers and divers were honored.<\/p>\n

Last month, over 100 swimmers and divers were named to All District Teams<\/a>.\u00a0The At Large teams are comprised of these athletes. A swimmer was named the Academic All-American of the Year at each of the four levels.<\/p>\n

Division I<\/h3>\n

Alabama’s\u00a0Anton McKee\u00a0<\/strong>was named the Division I Men’s Academic All-American of the year. The junior\u00a0is a three time All-American and has a 4.0 GPA. Joining him on the men’s Division I first team is his teammate Conor Oslin<\/strong>.\u00a0Miami Ohio’s\u00a0Evan Bader,\u00a0<\/strong>Texas’\u00a0Cory Bowersox<\/strong>, Gardner-Webb’s\u00a0Nathan Lile,\u00a0<\/strong>Cal’s\u00a0Ryan Murphy<\/strong>, and Georgia’s\u00a0Ty Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>are also first team honorees.<\/p>\n

Eric Ebert\u00a0<\/strong>of Niagra is on the second team alongside Alabama’s\u00a0Pavel Romanov\u00a0<\/strong>and Michigan’s\u00a0PJ Ransford<\/strong>. Third team honorees include\u00a0Ryan Bailey\u00a0<\/strong>of the U.S. Naval Academy and South Dakota State’s\u00a0Weston Christensen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nine Division I women were honored.\u00a0Louisville’s multiple time NCAA champion\u00a0Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>earned her place on the first team, in addition to Cal’s\u00a0Rachael Acker<\/strong> and Tennessee’s\u00a0Faith Johnson<\/strong>. The other three first team honorees are the U.S. Naval Academy’s\u00a0Ellen Bradford<\/strong>, Kentucky’s\u00a0Danielle Galyer,\u00a0<\/strong>and Texas A&M’s\u00a0Sarah Gibson<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

Rachel Bootsma\u00a0<\/strong>of Cal and\u00a0Natalie Beale\u00a0<\/strong>of Liberty were awarded second team honors and Boise State’s\u00a0Samantha Wicks\u00a0<\/strong>is on this year’s third team.<\/p>\n

Division II<\/h3>\n

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s\u00a0senior\u00a0Keith Sponsler\u00a0<\/strong>is the 2015-2016 NCAA Division II Men’s Academic-All American of the Year. He is a 17 time All-American and graduated this spring with a 3.92 GPA in nuclear engineering.<\/p>\n

Six other swimmers join him on the\u00a0first\u00a0team, including Saint Leo teammates\u00a0Matheus Assis<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Evan Jacob.\u00a0<\/strong>Edinboro’s\u00a0Micah Cattell<\/strong>, UC San Diego’s\u00a0Michael Cohn<\/strong>, Grand Valley State’s\u00a0Gianna Ferrero<\/strong>, and Florida Southern’s\u00a0Diego Gimenez\u00a0<\/strong>round out the first team.<\/p>\n

Recipients of this year’s second team honors for the men are\u00a0Malone’s\u00a0Chris Eckard<\/strong>, Colorado School of Mines’\u00a0Brennan Mays<\/strong>, and Gannon’s\u00a0Drew Wolter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There were five third team honorees for the Division II men:\u00a0Timothy Buff <\/strong>of\u00a0Le Moyne,\u00a0Miguel Chavez <\/strong>of\u00a0Missouri Science and Tech,\u00a0Tim Collet\u00a0<\/strong>of Malone,\u00a0Lucas Cuadros\u00a0<\/strong>of Wingate, and Shippensburg’s\u00a0Stefan Szilagyi.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the Division II women, Lynn teammates Thalie Carmigianai <\/strong>and\u00a0Rebecca Matthews\u00a0<\/strong>were named to the first team, along with West Floria’s\u00a0Monica Amaral, <\/strong>Wingate’s\u00a0Vika Arkhipova,<\/strong>\u00a0Florida Southern’s\u00a0<\/strong>Kelsey Gouge,<\/strong>\u00a0Wayne State’s\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Hannah Loesch,<\/strong>\u00a0and Ashland’s\u00a0<\/strong>Hannah Mattar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Elly Maleski\u00a0<\/strong>of Wayne State took home second team honors as did Clarion’s\u00a0Lauren Slayton\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Sarah Zerfoss\u00a0<\/strong>and Carson-Newman’s\u00a0Nancy Claire Smith.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the third team are UC San Diego’s\u00a0Jaimie Bryan\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Dari Watkins<\/strong>, and Shippensburg’s\u00a0Rikki Sargent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Division III<\/h3>\n

MIT’s\u00a0Margaret Guo\u00a0<\/strong>was named the Division III women’s Academic All-American of the year after her four All American honors this year and her 4.0 GPA in electrical engineering and computer science. She was joined on the first team by Emory’s\u00a0Elizabeth Aronoff<\/strong>, Denison’s\u00a0Campbell Costley<\/strong>, Wheaton (Ill)’s\u00a0Kirsten Nitz<\/strong>, St. Thomas’\u00a0Emma Paulson<\/strong>, Mount Holyoke’s\u00a0Cathleen Pruden<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>Luther’s\u00a0Clare Slagel\u00a0<\/strong>and Kenyon’s\u00a0Haley Townsend<\/strong><\/p>\n

Second team DIII swimmers include Denison’s\u00a0Carolyn Kane<\/strong>, Emory’s\u00a0Marcela Sanchez-Aizcorbe,<\/strong>\u00a0Messiah’s\u00a0Emily Reale<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kristalyn McAfee\u00a0<\/strong>of WashU. This year’s third team swimmers are Grove City’s\u00a0Abby Jank<\/strong>, RPI’s\u00a0Shanny Lin<\/strong>, RIT’s Natalie Snyder,\u00a0<\/strong>Olivet’s\u00a0Leah Lupu<\/strong>, and St. Mary’s (MD)\u00a0Cara Machlin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Representing the Division III men on the first team are\u00a0Brad Brooks\u00a0<\/strong>of McDaniel and WashU’s\u00a0Reed Dalton<\/strong>. Those two are joined by Johns Hopkins’\u00a0Andrew Greenhalgh<\/strong>, Denison’s\u00a0Jack Lindell<\/strong>, Kenyon’s\u00a0Trevor Manz,\u00a0<\/strong>Washington and Jefferson’s\u00a0Nicholas Willison<\/strong>,\u00a0and Rose-Hulman’s\u00a0Orion Martin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WPI’s\u00a0Nathan Hughes\u00a0<\/strong>was named to the second team as was MIT’s\u00a0Daryl Neubieser,\u00a0<\/strong>Denison’s\u00a0Andrew Rich<\/strong> and\u00a0Jason Wesseling<\/strong>, Calvin’s\u00a0Brett Stoughton<\/strong>, and Williams’\u00a0Jake Tamposi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hayes Burdette-Sapp\u00a0<\/strong>of Emory,\u00a0Daniel Goldstein\u00a0<\/strong>of Grinnell,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tommy Thetford\u00a0<\/strong>of Washington and Lee garnered third team selections.<\/p>\n

College Division (NAIA, Canadian, and two-year institutions)<\/h3>\n

Olivet Nazarene’s\u00a0Jacob Anderson\u00a0<\/strong>took home men’s Academic All-American of the year recognition. The senior is a six time national champion with a 3.73 GPA. British Columbia’s\u00a0Colin Eriks\u00a0<\/strong>was also named to the first team. Anderson’s teammate\u00a0Calvin Price\u00a0<\/strong>and St. Gregory’s\u00a0Jason Schroeder\u00a0<\/strong>were second team selections.<\/p>\n

For the women\u00a0Mckayla Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>of the College of Idaho was named to the first team and Olivet Nazarene’s\u00a0Tiffany Ray\u00a0<\/strong>garnered second team recognitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
