His wife\u00a0<strong>Maureen\u00a0<\/strong>was officially banned on February 16.<\/p>\n<p>Pat served as the head coach of the Towson University swimming and diving team from 1998 until this past season. Maureen was the diving coach.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/investigation-opened-into-towson-womens-swimming-locker-room-videotaping\/\">In October<\/a> a\u00a0phone was found recording the women&#8217;s team in their locker room as they changed.\u00a0An investigation revealed that the phone belonged to Maureen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/towsons-maureen-mead-charged-with-3-counts-in-connection-with-video-recording\/\">She was charged<\/a> with a felony and two misdemeanors and eventually\u00a0was handed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/former-towson-coach-maureen-mead-gets-3-years-probation-in-peeping-tom-plea-deal\/\">three years probation<\/a> after reaching a plea deal.<\/p>\n<p>Pat was also put on administrative leave during the investigation. He later resigned in December.<\/p>\n<p>Pat has been banned for violating two sections of USA Swimming&#8217;s Code of Conduct, intended to protect the athlets.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>CODE OF CONDUCT (2002-2008) \u2013 SECTION 304.3.5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>304.3.5 Any sexual contact or advance or other inappropriate sexually oriented behavior or action directed towards an athlete by a coach, official, trainer, or other person who, in the context of swimming, is in a position of authority over that athlete.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CODE OF CONDUCT (1999-2008) &#8211; SECTION 304.3.15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>304.3.15 Any other act, conduct or omission not provided for above, which is detrimental to the image or reputation of USA Swimming, a LSC or the sport of swimming.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pat Mead\u00a0was added to USA Swimming&#8217;s banned list as of June 3rd.
