CARY, North Carolina, March 8. TWO of the bigger clubs in the South, SwimAtlanta and SwimMAC, completed the final day of action at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in Cary, N.C., with the bulk of the gold medals on offer.<\/p>\n

Greenville's Lauren Perdue started off the night with a swift time of 49.25 to win the women's 100-yard free. Meanwhile, SwimMAC's Cullen Jones raced to a 42.69 to claim the men's 100-yard free title.<\/p>\n

SwimAtlanta's Sommers Creed picked up the women's 1650-yard free crown with a time of 16:37.71, while SwimMAC's Kip Darmody followed with a quick time of 1:44.82 to capture the men's 200-yard back victory. SwimAtlanta's Caroline Kenney then clocked a 1:56.23 for the women's 200-yard title before teammate Will Freeman grabbed the men's 1650-yard free triumph in 14:45.71.<\/p>\n

Raleigh Swim's Sarah Henry completed the women's 200-yard IM in 1:57.92 for the win before SwimMAC's Mark Gangloff took the men's 200-yard IM in 1:46.51 to finish individual events for the meet.<\/p>\n

SwimAtlanta's Jana Mangimelli, Julia Treible, Allyson Sweeney and Amanda Weir took the women's 400-yard medley relay in 3:45.31, while SwimMAC's Darmody, Gangloff, Thomas Santoli and Jones clocked a 3:13.80 to earn the men's 400-yard medley relay victory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
