Members of SwimMAC Carolina’s Team Elite, including\u00a0five-time Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong>, competed on Saturday in Huntersville, N.C. as their final tune-up for the U.S. Olympic Trials later this month. In addition to swimmers from the host SwimMAC, the meet’s evening session featured\u00a0member’s of North Carolina’s swim team as well as a trio from the South Carolina Swim Club.<\/p>\n

Lochte opened the evening with a win in the 200 free, where he posted a time of 1:49.17. He later swam a 1:02.19 in the 100 breast for by far the best time of the competition.<\/p>\n

Cammile\u00a0<\/strong>Adams<\/strong> put up a strong effort in her signature 200 fly. Adams clocked 2:07.59 for the 14th-fastest time in the world this year and the top time by an American.<\/p>\n

Katie Meili<\/strong>, who ranks 10th in the world in the 100 breast with a 1:06.49, came in at 1:07.10 in her signature event on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The 50 freestyles were conducted in a four-round elimination format.\u00a0Cullen Jones<\/strong> had the top time of the evening on the men’s side with a 22.04. Among Americans, only Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>(21.68) and\u00a0Anthony Ervin<\/strong> (21.98) have been faster this year.\u00a0Madison Kennedy<\/strong> won the women’s event in 24.97, well short of her 24.45 from the Arena Pro Series in Mesa that ranks seventh in the world.<\/p>\n

Jimmy Feigen\u00a0<\/strong>popped a time of 49.46 to win the men’s 100 free. In the 200 back, defending Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Tyler Clary\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to a win in 2:00.27.<\/p>\n

Kathleen Baker<\/strong> touched the wall in 1:01.53 in the 100 back. The World Championship finalist recently returned to Charlotte for the summer following her freshman year at Cal.<\/p>\n

Matthew Josa<\/strong> posted a strong 52.94 to win the 100 fly ahead of\u00a0teammate\u00a0Tim Phillips\u00a0<\/strong>(54.54).<\/p>\n
