That time is the second fastest in the world this year, and he came up only .02 shy of <strong>Larsen Jensen<\/strong>&#8216;s 2008 U.S. Open record.\u00a0Before today, Yang sat outside the world&#8217;s top 20 for the year.<\/p>\n<p>Going head to head with Yang,\u00a0<strong>Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>earned the second seed in 3:48.15.\u00a0<strong>David McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>qualified third in 3:51.69, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Ryan Chochrane\u00a0<\/strong>in 3:51.99.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jack McLoughlin\u00a0<\/strong>posted a 3:52.12 for fifth, ahead of\u00a0<strong>Zhi Yong Quian\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.25) and\u00a0<strong>Liam Egan\u00a0<\/strong>(3:55.46) in sixth and seventh.\u00a0<strong>Jeremy Bagshaw\u00a0<\/strong>(3:56.70) and\u00a0<strong>Brandonn
