{"id":205072,"date":"2016-05-29T10:04:31","date_gmt":"2016-05-29T17:04:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=205072"},"modified":"2016-05-29T10:04:31","modified_gmt":"2016-05-29T17:04:31","slug":"tomasz-polewka-vaults-to-4th-in-world-in-50-back-with-polish-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tomasz-polewka-vaults-to-4th-in-world-in-50-back-with-polish-record\/","title":{"rendered":"Tomasz Polewka Vaults to 4th in World in 50 Back With Polish Record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tomasz Polewka<\/strong> clipped the Polish record in the men&#8217;s 50-meter back at the 2016 Polish Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Polewka hit the wall in 24.72 for the win, breaking his own record of 24.80 set last year in Szczecin. \u00a0The time today moved him up to fourth in the world behind <strong>Camille Lacourt<\/strong> (24.67), <strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> (24.70) and <strong>Junya Koga<\/strong> (24.71). \u00a0<strong>Piotr Ludwiczak<\/strong> finished second overall in a time of 25.64 with <strong>Radoslaw Kawecki<\/strong> taking third in 25.71.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pawel Korzeniowski<\/strong> turned in a 52.37 to win the men&#8217;s 100-meter fly. <strong>\u00a0Jan Switkowski<\/strong> touched second in 53.04 with <strong>Oskar Krupecki<\/strong> taking third in 53.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexandra Urbanczyk<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 50-meter back in a time of 28.47. \u00a0<strong>Klaudia Nazieblo<\/strong> finished second in 29.21 with<strong> Agata Naskret<\/strong> finishing third in 29.48.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paulina Nogaj<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly in 59.90. \u00a0<strong>Anna Dowgiert<\/strong> took second in 1:00.23 with <strong>Joanna Mizak<\/strong> earning third in 1:01.21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paulina Zachoszcz<\/strong> claimed the women&#8217;s 200-meter breast in a time of 2:30.16, while <strong>Weronika Paluszek<\/strong> finished second in 2:30.90. \u00a0<strong>Agnieszka Ostrowska<\/strong> placed third in 2:31.62.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacek Arentewicz<\/strong> captured the men&#8217;s 200-meter breast title in 2:13.32. <strong>\u00a0Mikolaj Machnik<\/strong> placed second in 2:13.46 with <strong>Bartlomiej Roguski<\/strong> finishing third in 2:13.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justyna Burska<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 400-meter free in 4:14.52. \u00a0<strong>Joanna Zachoszcz<\/strong> finished second in 4:16.12 with <strong>Paulina Piechota<\/strong> placing third in 4:16.21.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filip Zaborowski<\/strong> turned in a 3:49.75 to win the men&#8217;s 400-meter free. \u00a0<strong>Kacper Klich<\/strong> took second in 3:50.97 with <strong>Krzysztof Pielowski<\/strong> winding up third in 3:52.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katarzyna Baranowska<\/strong> clinched the women&#8217;s 200-meter IM in 2:12.13 with<strong> Lidia Halicka<\/strong> taking second in 2:20.36. <strong>\u00a0Kalina Gralewska<\/strong> placed third in 2:20.39.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marcin Cieslak<\/strong> closed out the day with a 2:00.64 to win the men&#8217;s 200-meter IM. \u00a0<strong>Marcin Suzin<\/strong> took second in 2:01.83 with <strong>Marcin Tarczynski<\/strong> racing his way to third in 2:02.43.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/results\/2016-polish-championships-day-3-finals\/international-elite\/2016\/May\/27\" target=\"_blank\">2016 Polish Championships: Day 3 Finals &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tomasz Polewka clipped the Polish record in the men&#8217;s 50-meter back at the 2016 Polish Nationals.
