ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, February 28. ALBUQUERQUE Academy won the state title with scores of 319 (girls) and 409 (boys) points. La Cueva placed second (262) and Las Cruces finished third (202) for the girls. On the boys’ side, Rio Rancho took second (232), while Los Alamos placed third (202).<\/p>\n
Girls Results
\nEighth grader Annika Apostalon (Albuquerque Academy) had individual wins in the 50 (23.92) and 100 (52.98) freestyles. She teamed up with Abby Branch, Michelle Howell, and Marissa Hollowwa for a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:50.27).<\/p>\n
Kaitlan Walker (Eldorado) finished first in the diving competition with a score of 414.25, while Hope Hoover (Rio Rancho) placed second (359.80) and Leigh Kolb (Albuquerque Academy) took third (356.35).<\/p>\n
Tess Lemon joined Apostalon, Howell, and Hollowwa in the 200 freestyle relay. The girls clocked a 1:40.41 for a first-place finish.<\/p>\n
Albuquerque Academy’s Madison Bridges won the200 IM (2:10.66). She also earned an All-American cut in her 100 backstroke with a time of 57.29.<\/p>\n
La Cueva’s Brenna St. John, Allison McCollister, Molly Supple, and Gabriela Mackiw won the 400 freestyle relay (3:43.15). St. John also won the 200 freestyle (1:57.93).<\/p>\n
Boys Results
\nAlbuquerque Academy’s Marin Hussey, Elliot Feng, Joel Langsfeld, and Matthew Regenie took first-place in the 200 medley relay (1:39.66).<\/p>\n
Kalani Kaula (Albuquerque Academy) had individual wins in the 50 (21.47) and 100 (47.33) freestyles.<\/p>\n
Sophomore Kyle Lang (Albuquerque Academy) won the diving competition with a score of 405.85. Mallet Reid (Hobbs) and Gary Moku (Rio Rancho) followed with scores of 362.25 and 336.55 respectively.<\/p>\n
Elliot Feng touched out Seth Lemo (Bosque) by nearly .10 seconds in the 100 breaststroke for a first-place finish (59.61). <\/p>\n
Marcus Guttmann won the 100 butterfly (52.60) and the 500 freestyle (4:40.57). He teamed up with seniors Max Walla, Kaula, and Feng to set state records in the 200 (1:26.67) and 400 (3:12.44) freestyle relays as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
