While\u00a0many swimmers are racing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/5-races-to-watch-at-the-arena-pro-swim-series-indianapolis\/\" target=\"_blank\">in Indianapolis<\/a>, there will be plenty of fast swimming in Santa Clara as well.<\/p>\n<p>Here are five races to watch at the Arena Pro Swim Series Santa Clara.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Women&#8217;s 100 Backstroke<\/h2>\n<p>Australian talent takes the top spots in this event this weekend.\u00a0<strong>Emily Seebhom\u00a0<\/strong>is the second fastest swimmer in the world this year and\u00a0<strong>Madison Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>is just behind her in the world&#8217;s fifth best time. They&#8217;ll go up against <strong>Natalie Coughlin<\/strong>, who despite having a more sprint freestyle focus in recent years, has remained a strong contender in the event where she once\u00a0led the way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hilary Caldwell,<\/strong>\u00a0who has already earned her spot on the Canadian Olympic Team, will be in the mix, as will<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>young Australian talent\u00a0<strong>Minna Atherton,\u00a0<\/strong>and Cal\u00a0stars\u00a0<strong>Rachel Bootsma\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Pelton.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>2. Men&#8217;s 200 Freestyle<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>won this event in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/conor-dwyer-cruises-to-first-in-200-free-at-2016-arena-pro-series-charlotte\/\" target=\"_blank\">Charlotte<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/conor-dwyer-tops-mesa-200-freestyle-to-move-into-tie-for-6th-in-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mesa<\/a> and sits in a tie for the world&#8217;s 11th best time of the year. He&#8217;ll face off with\u00a0<strong>David McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>who posted the same 1:46.61 mark at the Australian Championships. The 2012 Olympic silver medalist\u00a0<strong>Sun Yang\u00a0<\/strong>will also be a fierce competitor in this race.<\/p>\n<p>Young talents\u00a0<strong>Maxime Rooney\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> will\u00a0look to challenge the veterans\u00a0next weekend.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Women&#8217;s 100 Butterfly<\/h2>\n<p>This event will feature the owners of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and eighth best times in the world this year.\u00a0<strong>Emma McKeon\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Madeline Groves\u00a0<\/strong>were the top two finishers at the 2016 Australian Championships, and they&#8217;ll race again in California, this time facing top talent from the U.S. and Canada.\u00a0<strong>Dana Vollmer\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/dana-vollmer-soars-first-100-fly-arena-pro-series-charlotte\/\" target=\"_blank\">topped this event<\/a>\u00a0again in Charlotte\u00a0in April and\u00a0<strong>Noemie Thomas\u00a0<\/strong>was runner up at the Canadian Trials.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Men&#8217;s 50 Freestyle<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Nathan Adrian\u00a0<\/strong>has been\u00a0impressive in the splash and dash. His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/mens-50-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\">time from Mesa<\/a> stands as the fourth best in the world this year. Without Adrian\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/simone-manuel-out-touches-competition-in-50-free-of-2016-atlanta-classic\/\" target=\"_blank\">in Charlotte<\/a>,\u00a0<strong>Anthony Ervin\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first. While they are the only swimmers seeded under 22 seconds, Australians\u00a0<strong>James Magnussen\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Andrew Abood\u00a0<\/strong>will also be in the hunt.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Women&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Yulia Efimova\u00a0<\/strong>is slated to be the top competitor, despite her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/fina-reportedly-lifts-yuliya-efimovas-provisional-suspension\/\" target=\"_blank\">ongoing battle after a positive\u00a0doping test<\/a>. She posted the world&#8217;s leading time at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/yuliya-efimova-posts-top-ranked-105-70-in-100-breast\/\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando<\/a>\u00a0stop early this year.\u00a0<strong>Georgia Bohl\u00a0<\/strong>swam the world&#8217;s fourth best time at the\u00a0Australian Championships.
