Hit refresh for the latest coverage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FINALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 400 free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Gabriele Detti<\/strong> took down the meet record in the men&#8217;s 400-meter free at the 2016 European Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Detti hit the wall in a time of 3:44.01, breaking the 3:45.10 set by <strong>Yury Prilukov<\/strong> back in 2008 at the Eindhoven edition of the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Detti has been faster this year, however, with a third-ranked time of 3:43.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Guy<\/strong>, who is the top-ranked swimmer here with a second-ranked 3:43.84 from British Nationals, missed out on finals during prelims as he&#8217;s focused on the Olympics this year.<\/p>\n<p>Norway&#8217;s <strong>Henrik Christiansen<\/strong> took second overall in a time of 3:46.49 with <strong>Peter Bernek<\/strong> earning third overall with a 3:46.81 to claim the final medal. \u00a0Austria&#8217;s <strong>Felix Auboeck<\/strong> just missed 29.74 29.09 27.62<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> was out under world-record pace at the 300 before fading badly to settle for a meet record in the women&#8217;s 400-meter IM at the 2016 European Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Hosszu split a 3:28.84 at the 300-meter mark, under <strong>Ye Shiwen&#8217;s<\/strong> 3:29.75 from 2012. \u00a0But, Hosszu did not have the same freestyle speed as she faded with a 4:30.90 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a full second off her world-best time of 4:29.89, but still a smidge better than her meet record of 4:30.97 from prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Hannah Miley<\/strong>, already the second-ranked swimmer in the world with a 4:33.40 from British Nationals, took second tonight in 4:35.27.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Zsuzsanna Jakabos<\/strong> completed the rest of the podium with a third-place time of 4:38.39.<\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> (4:40.08), Italy&#8217;s<strong> Carlotta Toni<\/strong> (4:40.76), Italy&#8217;s <strong>Luisa Trombetti<\/strong> (4:41.03), Czech&#8217;s<strong> Barbora easily won the women&#8217;s 400-meter free relay at the 2016 European Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maud van der Meer<\/strong> (54.68),<strong> Femke Heemskerk<\/strong> (52.80), <strong>Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> (53.82) and <strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> (52.50) dominated the finale in a time of 3:33.80.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s<strong> Silvia Di Pietro<\/strong> (55.00), <strong>Erika Ferraioli<\/strong> (54.18), <strong>Aglaia Pezzato<\/strong> (55.04) and <strong>Federica Pellegrini<\/strong> (53.46) finished second in 3:37.68.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Sarah Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>William Meynard<\/strong> (49.57),<strong> Florent Manaudou<\/strong> (47.64),<strong> Fabien Gilot<\/strong> (48.26) and <strong>Clement Mignon<\/strong> (48.01) collected the gold medal in 3:13.48.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Luca Dotto<\/strong> (48.03), <strong>Luca Leonardi<\/strong> (48.47),<strong> Jonathan Boffa<\/strong> (49.21) and <strong>Filippo Magnini<\/strong> (48.58) touched out Belgium&#8217;s <strong>Glenn Surgeloose<\/strong> (48.75), <strong>Jasper Aerents<\/strong> (49.31), <strong>Dieter Dekoninck<\/strong> (48.87) and<strong> second-ranked time in the women&#8217;s 50-meter fly at the 2016 European Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Halsall ripped off a top time of 25.35 to lead qualifying, bettering her previously second-ranked season best of 25.60 from the Golden Tour.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#8217;s <strong>Sarah Sjostrom<\/strong>, the world leader with a 25.15 from the Swedish Open this year as well as world record holder with a 24.43 in 2014, cruised into second with a 25.42.<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands&#8217; <strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> (25.63), Denmark&#8217;s <strong>Jeanette Ottesen<\/strong> (25.70), Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Christou clocked in with a time of 53.36 to move up to 12th in the world rankings this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grigory Tarasevich<\/strong> of Russia posted a 53.70 for the second seed. \u00a0Tarasevich is ranked fifth in the world with a 53.03 from Russian Nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Simone Sabbioni<\/strong> qualified third with a time of 53.86, off his 10th-ranked 53.34 from the Italian Championships.<\/p>\n<p>France&#8217;s <strong>Camille Lacourt<\/strong> clocked in fourth with a 54.09, well back of his third-ranked 52.97 from the French Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Romania&#8217;s <strong>Robert Glinta<\/strong> (54.14), Israel&#8217;s <strong>Yakov Toumarkin<\/strong> (54.18), Hungary&#8217;s <strong>Gabor Balog<\/strong> (54.20) and
