Leah Smith\u00a0<\/strong>clocked the fastest 800 Free time of the morning with a final 8:27.79. Smith’s time is the fastest she has been in 2016 and moves her up in the world rankings to thirteenth. Previously she had posted a time of 8:28.31 at the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Finishing second overall was open water star\u00a0Ashley Twichell<\/strong>. Twichell turned in a final time of 8:30.45 to squeeze into the world rankings at twentieth.<\/p>\n
Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third overall with a time of 8:32.94, just ahead of the race for fourth between\u00a0Gillian Ryan\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Rose Bi<\/strong>. Ryan got her hand to the wall first to grab fourth with a time of 8:34.01, while Bi settled for fifth and a time of 8:34.19.<\/p>\n
Kristel Kobrich\u00a0<\/strong>picked up sixth with a time of 8:35.23 and seventh fell to\u00a0Emily Brunemann’s\u00a0<\/strong>8:42.56.<\/p>\n
Eight went to\u00a0Joanna Evans<\/strong> and her time of 8:44.06.<\/p>\n

Caitlin Leverenz\u00a0<\/strong>delivered a sizzling swim in the women’s 200 IM doing nothing but building upon her lead throughout the race. Leverenz picked up speed in the breaststroke to pull away from the competition and clock a final time of 2:12.72 for first.<\/p>\n
Karlee Bispo\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the second fastest time of the evening with a final 2:13.96, while\u00a0Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> completed the top three with a time of 2:14.60.<\/p>\n
Grabbing fourth was\u00a0Monika Gonzalez Hermosillo\u00a0<\/strong>with a 2:16.24. Close behind was\u00a0Kate Mills\u00a0<\/strong>stopping the clock at a time of 2:16.39.<\/p>\n
Emma Reaney<\/strong> finished sixth overall with a 2:17.41, ahead of\u00a0Miranda Tucker’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:18.88.<\/p>\n
Ary Medina<\/strong> was eighth with a time of 2:20.37.<\/p>\n

World record holder in the 200 IM,\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong>, jumped ahead early in the race and never looked back. Lochte turned on the heat in lane one to post a final time of 1:58.97, just shy of his 2016 world best of 1:58.43 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Connor Dwyer<\/strong> grabbed the silver medal with a time of 2:00.90, scraping 2.67 seconds off his prelims time of 2:03.57.<\/p>\n
Third went to\u00a0Norbert Szabo\u00a0<\/strong>who stopped the clock at a time of 2:01.56.<\/p>\n
A battle for fourth occurred between\u00a0Tom Peribonio<\/strong> and\u00a0Matthew Josa<\/strong>. Peribonio got the best of Josa picking up fourth with a 2:02.35 ovr Josa’s 2:02.74.<\/p>\n
Uvis Kalnins\u00a0<\/strong>claimed sixth with a final 2:03.61, while\u00a0Michael Weiss<\/strong> finished seventh with a 2:03.81.<\/p>\n
Eighth was grabbed by\u00a0Jose Martinez<\/strong> and his time of 2:04.49.<\/p>\n

Dominique Bouchard<\/strong> continued to shine at the Arena Pro Swim Series with a win in the women’s 200 back. Bouchard built her speed throughout the first 100 before continuing to hold off the competition in the second 100, stopping the clock at a 2:09.14. Bouchard’s time sits just off her 2:08.52 from the Canadian Olympic Trials, which sits as tenth in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n
Erin Voss<\/strong> grabbed a clear second with a final time of 2:10.37, ahead of the battle for third.<\/p>\n
Clara Smiddy<\/strong>,\u00a0Kirsty Coventry<\/strong>, and\u00a0Kylie Masse<\/strong> finished within .32 seconds of one another as the trio battled for the bronze medal. An early lead from Coventry was not enough to hold off the young Smiddy. Smiddy claimed third with a final 2:11.22 ahead of Coventry’s 2:11.41. Masse stuck to their heels, finishing fifth with a 2:11.54.<\/p>\n
Alex Sumner<\/strong> grabbed sixth with a time of 2:12.79, while\u00a0Alice Treuth\u00a0<\/strong>picked up seventh with her final time of 2:14.29.<\/p>\n
Kennedy Goss<\/strong> rounded out the top eight with a 2:18.89.<\/p>\n

It was a strong battle for first in the men’s 200 back between\u00a0Arkady Vyatchanin\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tyler Clary<\/strong>. The two swam stroke-for-stroke throughout much of the race, but it was Vyatchanin who took the win with a final 1:59.09. Vyatchanin’s best time from 2016 is a 1:57.57 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Clary settled for second and a final 1:59.25.<\/p>\n
Carter Griffin<\/strong> picked up third with a time of 1:59.86, while\u00a0Robert Owen<\/strong> clung to his heels for fourth and a time of 1:59.95.<\/p>\n
Tristan Sanders\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed fifth with a time of 2:02.29, just ahead of\u00a0Andy Song An’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:02.75.<\/p>\n
David Cespedes Echeverry\u00a0<\/strong>(2:04.25) and\u00a0Markus Thormeyer<\/strong> (2:04.29) completed the top eight.<\/p>\n

King went head-to-head with this morning’s top seed\u00a0Katie Meili<\/strong> and the now former pool and meet record holder\u00a0Alia Atkinson.<\/strong> King posted a final 30.35 to lower Atkinson’s 30.54. King’s time also rocketed her to second in the world rankings for 2016 with only\u00a0Ruta Meilutyte<\/strong>‘s\u00a0<\/strong>30.13 from the Swedish Open ahead of her.<\/p>\n
Meili claimed second in finals with a 30.42 just ahead of Atkinson’s 30.77.<\/p>\n
Rachel Nicol<\/strong> picked up fourth with a time of 31.31, while\u00a0Emily McClellan\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 31.48 for fifth.<\/p>\n
Sixth fell to\u00a0Daniela Carrilo\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 32.48, just ahead of\u00a0Danielle Herrmann’s\u00a0<\/strong>32.70.<\/p>\n
Miranda Tucker<\/strong> turned in a 33.06 for eighth.<\/p>\n

Cody Miller<\/strong> completed his sweep of the breaststroke events with a first place finish in the men’s 50 breaststroke. Miller posted a new meet and pool record this morning at 27.39, but was unable to replicate the performance in finals. Instead he settled for a final time of 27.53, good for first. Both times fall within the top ten in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n
Jason Block\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed second with a time of 27.64, just ahead of\u00a0Nic Eriksson’s<\/strong> 27.96.<\/p>\n
Richard Funk\u00a0<\/strong>posted the fourth fastest time of the night at a 28.15, while\u00a0Kevin Steel<\/strong> took fifth with a time of 28.27.<\/p>\n
Youssef El Kamash<\/strong> (28.39),\u00a0Zach Hayden<\/strong> (28.74), and\u00a0Jorge Murillo Valdes\u00a0<\/strong>(28.75) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

The women’s 100 free proved to be a tight field with Olympic stars highlighting the medal count.\u00a0Dana Vollmer<\/strong>, who posted a new meet and pool record of 53.59 during this morning’s prelims, led at the 50-meter mark but was unable to hold off\u00a0Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> and\u00a0Chantal Van Landeghem<\/strong>, both members of Canada’s 2016 Olympic team.<\/p>\n
Oleksiak dug in deep to get her hand to the wall first with a final 53.41 ahead of teammate Van Landeghem’s 54.13. Oleksiak’s time a small .10 seconds off her sixth ranked 53.31 in the world rankings for 2016. Vollmer settled for third and a 54.19.<\/p>\n
Sandrine Mainville<\/strong> and\u00a0Madison Kennedy<\/strong> posted close times of 54.54 and 54.60 for fourth and fifth respectively.<\/p>\n
Also swimming in the sub-55 area was\u00a0Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace<\/strong> with a 54.92.<\/p>\n
Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> (55.45) and\u00a0Taylor Ruck\u00a0<\/strong>(56.43) completed the top eight finishers.<\/p>\n

Santo Condorelli<\/strong> continued to have a great meet, claiming another win in the men’s 100 free. Condorelli stopped the clock at a 48.41 to be the only athlete under the 49-second mark. His time sits just shy of his 48.09 from the Canadian Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n
Jimmy Feigen<\/strong> stopped the clock just ahead of\u00a0Yuri Kisil\u00a0<\/strong>to finish second in finals. Feigen delivered a 49.56 over Kisil’s 49.60.<\/p>\n
Joao De Lucca\u00a0<\/strong>claimed fourth in finals with a time of 49.75, while\u00a0Daniel Ramirez<\/strong> turned in a 49.99 for fifth.<\/p>\n
Ryan Lochte<\/strong>, today’s 200 IM winner, grabbed sixth overall with a 50.01 finish.<\/p>\n
Blake Pieroni<\/strong> (50.42) and\u00a0Cullen Jones<\/strong> (51.29) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n
