Smith&#8217;s time is the fastest she has been in 2016 and moves her up in the world rankings to thirteenth. Previously she had posted a time of 8:28.31 at the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing second overall was open water star\u00a0<strong>Ashley Twichell<\/strong>. Twichell turned in a final time of 8:30.45 to squeeze into the world rankings at twentieth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third overall with a time of 8:32.94, just ahead of the race for fourth between\u00a0<strong>Gillian Ryan\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Rose Bi<\/strong>. Leverenz picked up speed in the breaststroke to pull away from the competition and clock a final time of 2:12.72 for first.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karlee Bispo\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the second fastest time of the evening with a final 2:13.96, while\u00a0<strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> completed the top three with a time of 2:14.60.<\/p>\n<p>Grabbing fourth was\u00a0<strong>Monika Gonzalez Hermosillo\u00a0<\/strong>with a 2:16.24. Lochte turned on the heat in lane one to post a final time of 1:58.97, just shy of his 2016 world best of 1:58.43 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Connor Dwyer<\/strong> grabbed the silver medal with a time of 2:00.90, scraping 2.67 seconds off his prelims time of 2:03.57.<\/p>\n<p>Third went to\u00a0<strong>Norbert Szabo\u00a0<\/strong>who stopped the clock at a time of 2:01.56.<\/p>\n<p>A battle for fourth occurred between\u00a0<strong>Tom Peribonio<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Matthew Josa<\/strong>. Bouchard built her speed throughout the first 100 before continuing to hold off the competition in the second 100, stopping the clock at a 2:09.14. Bouchard&#8217;s time sits just off her 2:08.52 from the Canadian Olympic Trials, which sits as tenth in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Erin Voss<\/strong> grabbed a clear second with a final time of 2:10.37, ahead of the battle for third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clara Smiddy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kirsty Coventry<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Kylie Masse<\/strong> finished within .32 seconds of one another as the trio battled for the bronze medal. An early lead from Coventry was not enough to hold off the young Smiddy. Smiddy claimed third with a final 2:11.22 ahead of Coventry&#8217;s 2:11.41. The two swam stroke-for-stroke throughout much of the race, but it was Vyatchanin who took the win with a final 1:59.09. Miller posted a new meet and pool record this morning at 27.39, but was unable to replicate the performance in finals. Instead he settled for a final time of 27.53, good for first. Oleksiak&#8217;s time a small .10 seconds off her sixth ranked 53.31 in the world rankings for 2016.
