With no\u00a0Katie Ledecky<\/strong> in the mix the women’s 800 free was a much tighter field.\u00a0Andreina Pinto\u00a0<\/strong>turned in the fastest time of the day, stopping the clock at 8:36.19.<\/p>\n
Picking up the silver medal was\u00a0Stephanie Peters\u00a0<\/strong>with a close finish of 8:37.59, while\u00a0Madelyn Donohoe\u00a0<\/strong>posted a final time of 8:40.44 for third.<\/p>\n
Close behind Donohoe was\u00a0Hannah Moore\u00a0<\/strong>with a final 8:40.53.<\/p>\n
Isabella Rongione<\/strong> picked up fifth with a time of 8:47.75, ahead of\u00a0Kaitlin Pawlowicz\u00a0<\/strong>and her time of 8:50.70.<\/p>\n
Rachel Zilinskas<\/strong> (8:51.03) and\u00a0Peyton Palsha<\/strong> (8:52.58) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n
Men’s 1500 Free:<\/h3>\n

Sean Grieshop<\/strong> swam ahead of the competition in the men’s 1500 free, finishing more than fourteen seconds ahead of the competition. Grieshop posted a final time of 15:18.88 for the gold.<\/p>\n
It was a close race for second with the second and third place finishers posting times .06 seconds apart.\u00a0Andrew Gemmell<\/strong> was able to get to the wall ahead of\u00a0Robert Finke<\/strong> to finish second with a 15:33.24. Finke settled for third and a 15:33.30.<\/p>\n
Fourth was picked up by\u00a0David Heron<\/strong> and his final time of 15:35.26, while fifth went to\u00a0Taylor Abbott’s<\/strong> 15:36.06.<\/p>\n
Alex Meyer<\/strong> (15:37.95),\u00a0Arthur Frayler<\/strong> (15:38.10), and\u00a0Kevin Litherland\u00a0<\/strong>(15:43.89) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n

Ella Eastin<\/strong>, NCAA IM champion, picked up the win in the women’s 200 IM. Eastin clocked a 2:10.54 to rocket to seventh in the world rankings for 2016. That’s an improvement of close to one second from Eastin’s twelfth ranked 2:11.35 from last month’s Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Maya DiRado<\/strong>, winner of the 200 IM at last month’s Mesa stop, grabbed second with a final time of 2:11.42. That time sits close to her 2016 best of 2:10.77 from the Orlando stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Madisyn Cox<\/strong> and\u00a0Sarah Henry<\/strong> turned in similar times in a battle for third. Cox got her hand to the wall first to stop the clock at a 2:13.24 over Henry’s 2:13.36.<\/p>\n
After electing to not swim the 800 free,\u00a0Katie Ledecky<\/strong> continued to improve at the IM with a fifth place finish of 2:15.20.<\/p>\n
Fellow Olympian\u00a0Elizabeth Beisel<\/strong> grabbed sixth with a time of 2:16.56, while\u00a0Mia Nonnenberg<\/strong> was seventh with a 2:17.09.<\/p>\n
Annie Zhu\u00a0<\/strong>finished eighth overall with a 2:17.63.<\/p>\n

Josh Prenot<\/strong> maintained his spot at the top of the leaderboard in the men’s 200 IM with a final time of 1:59.51. Prenot was the only swimmer to post a sub-2 minute finish.<\/p>\n
Marton Barta<\/strong> grabbed second with a time of 2:03.80, while third went to\u00a0Mark Szaranek\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 2:04.22.<\/p>\n
Christian McCurdy\u00a0<\/strong>picked up a close fourth with a time of 2:04.52, and fifth fell to\u00a0Andrew Winton’s<\/strong> 2:05.84.<\/p>\n
Mick Litherland<\/strong> (2:06.37),\u00a0Alexander Taylor<\/strong> (2:06.63), and\u00a0Michael Duderstadt\u00a0<\/strong>(2:06.68) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n

Not long after finishing sixth in the women’s 200 IM\u00a0Elizabeth Beisel\u00a0<\/strong>was back in the women’s 200 back and eager to win. Beisel cranked out a final time of 2:12.10 to hold off the young\u00a0Alex Walsh<\/strong>. Beisel’s best time for 2016 still sits at a 2:09.75 which she set at the Orlando stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n
Walsh hung close to Beisel to pick up a close second with a final time of 2:12.32.\u00a0Lisa Bratton<\/strong> rounded out the top three finishers with a 2:12.50.<\/p>\n
Tasija Karosas<\/strong> slipped to fourth after posting the top time in prelims. Karosas stopped the clock at a 2:14.04, just ahead of\u00a0Brittany Maclean’s<\/strong> 2:14.15.<\/p>\n
Bridgette Alexander<\/strong> and\u00a0Hannah Moore<\/strong> kept it close to finish sixth and seventh respectively. Alexander stopped the clock at a 2:14.43 over Moore’s 2:14.62.<\/p>\n
Danielle Galyer<\/strong> grabbed eighth with a 2:15.88.<\/p>\n

Cal teammates\u00a0Ryan Murphy<\/strong> and\u00a0Jacob Pebley<\/strong> produced another 1-2 finish in the men’s 200 back. Murphy finished with a time of 1:55.82, less than one second shy of his fourth ranked 1:54.94 in the world rankings. Murphy turned in that stellar time just after the NCAA Championships at the Canadian Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n
Pebley flirted with his own 2016 best of 1:56.40 with a final time of 1:56.66. Pebley’s best is also from the Canadian Olympic Trials. The Cal teammates were the only two athletes to swim under the 2-minute mark.<\/p>\n
Michael Taylor<\/strong> grabbed third with a 2:01.81, ahead of\u00a0Taylor Delk’s\u00a0<\/strong>2:02.73.<\/p>\n
Sebastien Rousseau\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a final time of 2:04.99 to finish fifth.<\/p>\n
Alex Robinson\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Jason Park<\/strong> delivered matching times to tie for sixth. The two stopped the clock simultaneously at 2:05.15.<\/p>\n
Sean Grieshop<\/strong>, the men’s 1500 free winner, rounded out the top eight with a 2:07.34.<\/p>\n

The women’s 100 free field was a star-studded event with the top five finishers posting times within .66 seconds of one another.\u00a0Simone Manuel<\/strong>, who took a redshirt at Stanford this year to focus on the upcoming Olympic Trials, posted a 1-2 finish with fellow Stanford teammate\u00a0Lia Neal.\u00a0<\/strong>Manuel stopped the clock at a 54.11, finishing just shy of her thirteenth ranked time of 53.80 from the Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series. Neal clocked a 54.31 for second.<\/p>\n
Moving up to third was freestyle superstar\u00a0Katie Ledecky<\/strong> with a time of 54.55. Ledecky’s best time for 2016 sits at a 53.75 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series and is the fastest time posted by an American so far for 2016.<\/p>\n
NCAA sprint champion\u00a0Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> grabbed fourth with a time of 54.66, shaving .23 seconds off her prelims time of 54.89. Following close behind was\u00a0Amanda Weir\u00a0<\/strong>with a 54.77.<\/p>\n
Natalie Coughlin\u00a0<\/strong>turned in a 55.41 to finish sixth, just ahead of\u00a0Shannon Vreeland’s\u00a0<\/strong>55.73.<\/p>\n
Temarie Tomley<\/strong> grabbed eighth overall with a time of 55.86.<\/p>\n

Nathan Adrian<\/strong> and\u00a0Marcelo Chierighini<\/strong> clocked the only sub-49 second 100’s in tonight’s 100 free final. Adrian delivered a final time of 48.29 to claim first, just shy of his fifth ranked 48.00 from the Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Swim Series. Chierighini finished second with a time of 48.69.<\/p>\n
Townley Haas\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the top three with a final time of 49.72, just ahead of a tie for fourth between\u00a0Jack Conger<\/strong> and\u00a0Tom Shields<\/strong>. The two turned in matching times of 49.89.<\/p>\n
NCAA sprint superstar\u00a0Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed the sixth place finish with a time of 50.26, just ahead of\u00a0Ryan Held’s<\/strong> 50.37.<\/p>\n
