LOUISVILLE, Kentucky, February 15. AT the KHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the duPont Manual girls took first place with a score of 358 points. Sacred Heart Academy followed closely with 354 points while Notre Dame Academy placed third (250). The St. Xavier boys won with 229.50 points, followed by Covington Catholic (215.50) and Beechwood (184).<\/p>\n
Girls Individual Results<\/b>
\nSacred Heart Academy's Marisa McGlynn, Miranda Mercke, Summer Stephens, and Clark Cromer won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:45.83.
\nLeah Reinhardt of duPont took first place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.02.<\/p>\n
Senior Hannah Gadd (Highlands) won the diving competition, scoring 436.35 points. Lindsey Stephens (Male) took second (434.70) and Becca Corbett (Sacred Heart) placed third (406.70).<\/p>\n
Beechwood's Krissie Brandenburg set state records in the 100 freestyle (50.26) and the 100 backstroke (55.30).<\/p>\n
Meredith King (duPont) took first place in the 200 (1:50.91) and 500 (4:54.21) freestyles. She teamed up with Sarah Barker, Emily Holt, and Caroline Thomas for a first-place finish and state record in the 200 freestyle relay (1:35.94).<\/p>\n
duPont took first place in the 400 freestyle relay. Reinhardt, Mary Beth Heine, Clark Weber, and King clocked a 3:30.55 to close the meet.<\/p>\n
Boys Individual Results<\/b>
\nLee Duggins, Andrew Braun, Maclin Simpson, and John Bullock of St. Xavier opened the meet with a first-place finishing time of 1:34.44 in the 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n
Duggins and Simpson won the 100 backstroke (50.49) and the 100 butterfly (49.87) respectively.<\/p>\n
Shane Coltharp (Beechwood) had dual individual wins. His 200 IM time of 1:50.73 was only 1.47 seconds off the 1999 state record set by Brad Knueven. Coltharp was merely .56 seconds off the state record in the 500 freestyle (4:30.23) as well. The 1987 record is held by Scott Ryan.<\/p>\n
duPont's Kasey Allen won the diving competition with a score of 482 points. Andrew Galvagni (Trinity) and Justing Youtsey (Beechwood) took second (444.15) and third (412.10) place respectively.<\/p>\n
Paul Laurence Dunbar set a state record in the 200 freestyle relay. Eric Bruck, Cole Pleasants, Michael Kendall, and Noah Troutman clocked a 1:25.57 for a first-place finish.<\/p>\n
Bruck had first-place finishes in the 50 (20.11) and 100 (45.30) freestyles.<\/p>\n
Robby Walsh, Zane Rowland, Nick Kunkel, and Michael Walsh (Covington Catholic) closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.19).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
