PHOENIX, Arizona, February 13. THE College Swimming Coaches Association of America has released its latest coaches dual meet rankings poll.<\/p>\n

There are very few dual meets remaining in the 2008-09 season. In fact, many conference champions will be decided before the final poll of the year and our dual meet champions are crowned. The Georgia women have concluded an undefeated dual meet season and will be competing at the SEC Championship Meet beginning on February 18, 2009. Three new teams have entered the rankings this week. Rivals from the Ivy League, No. 19 Princeton and No. 25 Harvard join No. 25 Michigan as this week’s additions.<\/p>\n
The top spot in the men’s rankings has changed hands for the first time in weeks. The Stanford Cardinal has elevated to the top spot for the first time this season. The Cardinal has a dual meet remaining against Pac 10 foe and No. 6 California on February 21 in Berkeley, Calif. The meet promises to be an exciting end to the dual meet season. In other action since the last poll, the Arizona Wildcats knocked off former No.1 and the current No. 3 Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas, 204-149 in a two-day meet.<\/p>\n
This year’s poll will be published eight times and the champion will be crowned on February 26, 2009. Pollsters representing eight conferences along with two at-large voters have the task of ranking the top dual meet teams in the nation throughout the season. Additionally, the group of pollsters is completely different for the men’s and women’s rankings. This poll should not be confused with the results of the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships that will take place in March.<\/p>\n
