Schedule of Events:<\/strong><\/p>\n Hit refresh for all the latest coverage.<\/p>\n After posting a lifetime best of 1:57.42 this morning\u00a0Leah Smith<\/strong> charged to a final time of 1:57.26 for first in the women’s 200 free and another lifetime best. Smith, a distance free specialist, took charge of the race at the 50 mark and never looked back.<\/p>\n Taylor Ruck<\/strong> of Canada led throughout the first 50 and continued to challenge Smith for the rest of the race but was unable to out-swim the distance star.<\/p>\n Siobhan Haughey\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed third with a final time of 1:58.90 to be the only other swimmer under the 1:59-mark.<\/p>\n Lindsay Vrooman<\/strong> and\u00a0Rose Bi<\/strong> kept a tight race, finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Vrooman touched in a 1:59.65 over Bi’s 1:59.73.<\/p>\n Jen Marrkand<\/strong> finished sixth overall with a time of 2:00.50, while\u00a0Alex Norris<\/strong> posted a 2:02.32 for seventh.<\/p>\n Gillian Ryan<\/strong> was eighth with a time of 2:03.40.<\/p>\n Conor Dwyer\u00a0<\/strong>jumped to an early lead in the men’s 200 free and never let go as he cruised to first with a 1:46.68. Dwyer’s time sits a shy .07 seconds off his 2016 best of 1:46.61 from last month’s Arena Pro Series stop in Mesa.<\/p>\n Zane Grothe<\/strong> took second overall with a time of 1:48.22, while third went to\u00a0Anders Lie Nielsen<\/strong> and his time of 1:49.18.<\/p>\n Michael Klueh<\/strong> turned in a final time of 1:49.29 to finish fourth, just ahead of\u00a0Tyler Clary’s<\/strong> 1:49.50.<\/p>\n Joao De Lucca<\/strong> finished not far behind Clary with a 1:49.54, good for sixth.<\/p>\n Blake Pieroni<\/strong> (1:49.95) and\u00a0Norbert Szabo<\/strong> (1:50.42) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n NCAA breaststroke phenom\u00a0Lilly King\u00a0<\/strong>delivered the top time of the evening in the women’s 100 breaststroke. King stopped the clock at a 1:05.73 to rocket to second in the world rankings for 2016, sitting behind only\u00a0Yuliya Efimova*\u00a0<\/strong>(1:05.70).<\/p>\n Katie Meili<\/strong> posted the second place finish, stopping hte clock at a 1:06.54. Meili’s time sits just behind her seventh place 2016 world ranking of 1:06.49.<\/p>\n Alia Atkinson<\/strong> grabbed third overall with a time of 1:07.81.<\/p>\n Rachel Nicol<\/strong> turned in a 1:08.22, good for fourth, while\u00a0Kierra Smith\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Haley Spencer<\/strong> kept it close, finishing .09 seconds apart. Smith grabbed fifth with a 1:08.65 while Spencer settled for sixth and a 1:08.75.<\/p>\n Emily McClellan<\/strong> finished seventh overall with a 1:08.87, and\u00a0Anne Lazor<\/strong> was eighth with a 1:09.17.<\/p>\n Cody Miller\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Miguel De Lara Ojeda\u00a0<\/strong>battled for first in the men’s 100 breaststroke. Miller pulled ahead in the back half of the race to win with a time of 1:00.66. Miller’s time sits just outside of the top 20 world rankings for 2016. Ojeda settled for second and a 1:00.99.<\/p>\n Youssef El Kamash<\/strong>, the 100 breast winner at the Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Series, slipped to third with a time of 1:01.39.\u00a0Azad Al-Barazi<\/strong> finished close behind with a final time of 1:01.77.<\/p>\n Richard Funk<\/strong> claimed fifth place with a time of 1:02.05, while sixth went to\u00a0Jorge Murillo Valdes<\/strong> and his 1:02.41.<\/p>\n Jason Block\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.61) and\u00a0Zach Hayden<\/strong> (1:02.70) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Ali Deloof<\/strong> of Club Wolverine flirted with a sub-28 swim in the women’s 50-meter back posting a final time of 28.03 for first. Deloof’s time moves her to eighth in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n Kylie Masse<\/strong> finished a close second in 28.11, while South African Olympic medalist\u00a0Kirsty Coventry<\/strong> grabbed third with a 28.24.<\/p>\n Clara Smiddy\u00a0<\/strong>posted a fourth place finish of 28.68, just ahead of\u00a0Dominique Bouchard’s\u00a0<\/strong>28.87.<\/p>\n Claire Adams\u00a0<\/strong>(29.05),\u00a0Kathleen Baker<\/strong> (29.13), and\u00a0Fernanda Gonzalez\u00a0<\/strong>(29.24) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n After tying for first in prelims this morning\u00a0Bryce Bohman\u00a0<\/strong>separated himself from the pack to finish first with a 25.60.<\/p>\n Paul Le\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Bob Glover<\/strong> also posted sub-26 times for second and third. Le got his hand to the wall first with a 25.75 over Glover’s\u00a025.84.<\/p>\n Javier Acevedo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Arkady Vyatchanin\u00a0<\/strong>kept a tight race for fourth but it was Acevedo who got his hand to the wall first. Acevedo posted a 26.10 over Vyatchanin’s 26.13.<\/p>\n James Wells<\/strong> (26.31),\u00a0Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> (26.74), and\u00a0Andy Song An\u00a0<\/strong>(26.77) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n “Momma On A Mission”\u00a0Dana Vollmer\u00a0<\/strong>soared to first in the women’s 100 fly turning first at the 50 and extending her lead into the finish. Vollmer stopped the clock at a 57.23, just behind her fourth ranked world best of 56.94 from last month’s Mesa stop of the Arena Pro Series.<\/p>\n Young superstar\u00a0Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> grabbed second ahead of NCAA champion and American record holder\u00a0Kelsi Worrell<\/strong>. Oleksiak clocked a 58.25 over Worrell’s 58.37.<\/p>\n Farida Osman<\/strong> and\u00a0Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the sub-59 flyers with final times of 58.60 and 58.86 respectively.<\/p>\n Hannah Saiz<\/strong> grabbed sixth overall with a time of 59.82, while seventh went to\u00a0Cammile Adams<\/strong> (1:00.00).<\/p>\n Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace<\/strong> was eighth with a 1:00.14.<\/p>\n Santo Condorelli\u00a0<\/strong>was one of two swimmers to post sub-53 finishes in the men’s 100 fly during finals. Condorelli stopped the clock at a 52.53 to finish first and claim the gold.\u00a0Tim Phillips\u00a0<\/strong>finished close behind with a 52.83 for second.<\/p>\n Matthew josa\u00a0<\/strong>posted a final time of 53.43 for third, while fourth went to\u00a0Pavel Sankovich<\/strong> and his time of 53.66.<\/p>\n Dylan Bosch\u00a0<\/strong>claimed fifth with a 53.88, ahead of\u00a0Albert Subirats’\u00a0<\/strong>53.96.<\/p>\n Carl Weigley<\/strong> (54.13) and\u00a0Bryce Bohman<\/strong> (55.85) finished seventh and eighth respectively.<\/p>\n Not long after swimming the women’s 100 fly,\u00a0Cammile Adams\u00a0<\/strong>scorched the 400 IM field finishing almost 8 seconds ahead of the competition. Adams stopped the clock at a 4:38.97 and enter the lower echelons of the world rankings.<\/p>\n It was a fight for second between\u00a0Rose Bi<\/strong> and\u00a0Lindsey Clary\u00a0<\/strong>as the two finished .20 seconds apart. Bi got the better of Clary stopping the clock at 4:46.55 over Clary’s 4:46.75.<\/p>\n Kate Mills\u00a0<\/strong>finished close behind to grab fourth with a time of 4:46.83.<\/p>\n Emma Barksdale<\/strong> grabbed fifth overall with a 4:47.89, while\u00a0Rachael Bradford-Feldman<\/strong> was sixth with a 4:49.40.<\/p>\n Kaitlyn Jones<\/strong> (4:49.53) and\u00a0Monika Gonzalez-Hermosillo<\/strong> (4:49.74) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n Ryan Lochte<\/strong> powered to first in the men’s 400 IM, winning by a full two seconds. Lochte stopped the clock at a 4:16.92. His current best for 2016 is a 4:12.66 from the Austin stop of the Arena Pro Series, situating him at sixth in the world rankings for 2016.<\/p>\n Tom Peribonio\u00a0<\/strong>slipped from the first place seed to second with a time of 4:18.92.<\/p>\n Finishing third was\u00a0Michael Weiss\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 4:21.81, while\u00a0Ian Rainey\u00a0<\/strong>grabbed fourth with a 4:22.90.<\/p>\n Fifth went to\u00a0Kieran Smith\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 4:26.51.<\/p>\n Cameron Stitt<\/strong> (4:31.18),\u00a0Jarrett Jones\u00a0<\/strong>(4:31.98), and\u00a0Cody Bekemeyer\u00a0<\/strong>(4:32.09) finished sixth through eighth respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Everything you need to follow along with day two finals of the 2016 Arena Pro Swim Series in Charlotte, NC.
